Their dad wound up questioning him about whether he knew what was happening, and he told this man the truth.
“I said, bro, I’m going to be honest,” he said. “Your kids are socially inept. My kids really tried with your kids.”
“They don’t want to hang out with your kids because they don’t want them to get bullied by other kids in their social group. I told him I really, really like his kids. But they just don’t fit in. My kids can’t fix that.”
“He was very offended and said not to worry because they won’t hang out with my kids, including their 6-year-old. I said my 6-year-old and your 6-year-old get along. You can give them a ball, and they will play for hours. He said no. I feel really bad, but he needed to hear it.”
He’s left wondering if it was rude of him to tell this dad that his kids are socially awkward. What do you think?
