His Daughter Got Mad At Him For Saying She Should Stay With Her Cheating Husband If He Was Truly Sorry, Since He’s ‘Relatively Faithful’ For A Banker

This 57-year-old man’s daughter, Nina, 38, is married to Peter, 40.

Peter is a global investment banker and makes an impressive salary.

“His profession is one the very few in which you can, as the saying goes, become rich working for somebody else. Nina and Peter are the most well-off couple in our entire extended family, and I was so impressed to see them do so well. They married when they were both poor NYU graduate students, and we all thought Peter was a reliable quality man who had great potential,” he said.

Twelve years into their marriage, Nina and Peter are financially stable.

Sadly, not that long ago, Nina found out that Peter was having an affair with a woman in Buenos Aires, and the woman was in her mid-20s.

When he went over to visit Nina and her two children, he saw boxes all over their condo, and he asked what happened. Nina told him about Peter’s affair, and she said she’d made him leave the condo.

He questioned whether or not she and Peter were getting a divorce. She then told him that this wasn’t the first time Peter had been unfaithful throughout their marriage.

Previously, he had an affair with a woman who was about 23 or 24 and lived in the same city. While he was cheating with this woman, he helped her to get an internship.

Not long after that, the affair stopped, and when Nina found out about his relationship with this woman, the only reason she stayed in the marriage was because his affair had ended.

Nina told him that her plan was to maybe move out of the city they currently lived in and to a suburb in New Jersey so that she could save money.

She used to work as a property manager, but she hasn’t worked in several years because she has been raising the children she and Peter have together.

“I want to say that I do not condone any sort of cheating. However, I used to work in the hotel industry, and the number of average men who were barely crossing six figures who thought they were such a rare catch and, therefore, deserved to cheat on their wives was astronomical,” he explained.

“They’d come to the mediocre hotel I worked at and act so mighty doing one-night stands or bringing in mistresses and barely bothered to keep it discreet.”

Nina told him that she had done a lot of digging, and as far as she knew, these two women were the only women he’s cheated on her with, and he apparently never bragged to others about his affairs.

“Other wives of bankers say they ignored countless flings…seeing women throw themselves at their husbands. Peter refuses to engage with any other women with my daughter present, and there’s never been gossip that he’s attracted to a younger female coworker,” he shared.

“I don’t really have a filter, so I told my daughter that it is horrible, but with these bankers, there’s temptation all around, and the fact that it’s confirmed Peter had two discreet mistresses (not at the same time) means he’s probably among the most faithful you could get.”

He clarified that Peter must have rejected many women who attempted to flirt with him, and while he knows that cheating is frowned upon, he thinks that Nina should have anticipated that Peter would cheat on her because of the line of work he’s in.

However, Nina didn’t appreciate his opinion. She was furious and told him that the number of women Peter rejected were irrelevant because he engaged in long-term affairs with two different women during their marriage.

He responded by telling Nina that she should try to stay together if Peter seemed like he was truly sorry. At this, Nina told him to get out.

While he didn’t want to sound like “a pig,” he felt that if Nina divorced Peter and ended up with someone who makes less money, they may cheat even more excessively than Peter did.

He believed that a lot of other men would have trouble controlling themselves and remaining faithful. In his eyes, Peter is the closest Nina could get to a faithful husband.

Do you think he’s wrong for what he said to Nina?
