His Son Got Berated For Bringing A Whoopee Cushion To His Uncle’s Funeral, So He Yelled At His Family Before Leaving

“When we walked out of the church, my uncle’s wife called my son’s name (He was not with me. He was walking with a few of his cousins there around his age),” he explained.

“I go over to my son to see my uncle’s wife berating him for bringing a whoopee cushion to a funeral. My uncle’s wife is mad.”

“Apparently, it was sticking out of one of his suit pants pockets. I say to her in a calm voice that only I berate my son. She then bites back by saying that I was disrespecting her husband and the whole family by letting my son bring such things to a very official funeral.”

In response, he told his uncle’s wife the story of his uncle sitting on the whoopee cushion, expressing that this was his son’s favorite memory of his uncle. Then, his uncle’s wife claimed that his son had “attacked” his uncle by pranking his uncle with the whoopee cushion.

Understandably, this infuriated him and his son was sobbing at this point because he was obviously deeply hurt. He and his son continued walking out of the church, and in his anger, he suddenly turned around and shouted, “‘My son is probably the only person here that had a fun time with my uncle!'”

He and his son raced out of the church and headed home. Later, his entire family reached out to express their distaste for his actions. All his family members have taken his uncle’s wife’s side in the situation. To try to smooth things over, he sent his uncle’s wife a text to say he was sorry, but she never responded.

What would you have done if you were in his shoes?
