She Ruined Ex-Best Friend’s Relationship In Order To Get Revenge On Her
Since junior high, this 25-year-old woman had been best friends with Julia. But three years ago, she cut off communication with Julia after she learned that Julia was gossiping about her.
For her, this was a dealbreaker for their friendship, so she stopped talking to Julia, eventually moved to a different state, and has been moving on with her life.
A little more than a year ago, she met her current boyfriend. So far, their relationship has been going smoothly.
“One day, I came home from the gym, and he told me about this random message he got through Instagram, and the clearly fake account sent him a screenshot of ‘proof’ that I was cheating on him. It said, ‘This is what your wife does when you’re not around,'” she said.
When she looked at the screenshot the anonymous account sent her boyfriend, she knew that it was from Julia’s Snapchat account, and it contained Snapchat messages between her and Julia.
In the messages, she was telling Julia that she wanted to hook up with a guy that she had a crush on, but the messages were from when she still talked to Julia back in 2019. She didn’t even know her boyfriend until 2022.
She explained the context and timeline of the Snapchat messages, and thankfully, her boyfriend believed that she wasn’t being unfaithful. In the past, her boyfriend has had partners who were unfaithful, so she was relieved that he didn’t worry that she was lying based on what he’s experienced in previous relationships.
Because the screenshot contained messages between her and Julia, she knew deep down that the person behind this anonymous Instagram account had to be Julia. Not only was Julia the only person she’d told about this crush (who she did eventually hook up with), but in the screenshot, she could see Julia’s Snapchat username. Clearly, Julia wasn’t being too careful since she forgot to crop out her username, giving away that she was obviously the person behind the Instagram account.
At this point, she and Julia hadn’t spoken in three years, so she didn’t understand what possessed Julia to start drama all of a sudden.

Luckily, she had a mutual friend, Danny, who was still in contact with Julia.
A few days ago, she called Danny to tell him what happened, and she explained her theory of how Julia had been behind this anonymous Instagram account, adding that she had no idea why she would have done this in the first place. He confirmed her suspicions and said sorry on Julia’s behalf.
Apparently, on the day that Julia sent the message to her boyfriend on Instagram, Danny attended a family reunion and saw Julia and her parents. During the gathering, Julia’s parents asked if she knew what she was up to these days since they hadn’t been in touch with her in quite a while. Julia said that she had no idea what she was doing because they weren’t friends anymore.
“Danny follows me, so he told them how I moved out of state, had a good job, and met someone. He mentioned that my boyfriend had a business, and we seemed happy. After hearing that, Julia got MAD and then started telling her parents very untrue stuff about me, and after blowing up on them, she stayed on her phone for the rest of the event,” she explained.
This situation lines up with the night when Julia must have created the anonymous Instagram account. Julia then found her Instagram, and after that, she was able to track down her boyfriend so that she could send him a message.
Even though she stopped communicating with Julia three years ago, throughout that time, Julia publicly talked poorly about her on social media. But she never stood up for herself or retaliated in any way. She just continued to ignore her, no matter what horrible things Julia said about her.
However, Julia’s attempt to destroy her relationship was crossing a line. She wondered if the fact that she had stayed silent and didn’t respond to Julia’s antics enabled Julia to up the ante in a way.
For a long time, she’d had Julia blocked on Instagram, and she didn’t want to have to unblock her so that she could see what she had been up to lately. Instead, she asked one of her friends to check Julia’s Instagram to find out if she was currently dating anyone. It turned out that she was, so her friend sent her Julia’s boyfriend’s Instagram username.
So, she messaged Julia’s boyfriend, telling him who she was, and she gave him an explanation of why she was reaching out. Then, he asked if she was comfortable to talk on the phone with him, so she agreed to do so.
She talked with him for about an hour about Julia. First, she explained everything that Julia had done to her that led her to decide to reach out to him on Instagram.
“He said he was already thinking about breaking up with her because he didn’t trust her character. Apparently, she’s put him in uncomfortable situations, and he noticed she’s always having conflict with lots of people. He couldn’t pinpoint why that was, and he had caught her in lies before. He didn’t want to invest more time dating her if she was this crazy girl that he suspected she was,” she shared.
After he confided his feelings about Julia, she gave him more information about who Julia is as a friend and a person. She told him that Julia would destroy relationships with the people that are closest to her.
Right before they got off the phone, Julia’s boyfriend said that he felt more certain about his choice to break up with Julia, adding that he felt like Julia had been gaslighting him. Also, he said that his life has been chaotic since he got into a relationship with Julia. He told her that due to Julia’s horrible actions, he understood why she felt like she needed to message him and let him know the truth.
The next day, Danny called her and told her that Julia had come over to his place in tears. Apparently, Julia’s boyfriend followed through with his plan and ended their relationship. While at Danny’s, Julia was in hysterics.
“She was trying to blame me for him leaving, but Danny shut that down,” she continued.
Instead of agreeing with Julia, he told her that she shouldn’t be sobbing like this because this whole situation was her own fault. He continued and said that she should have known this would happen after she tried to destroy someone else’s relationship. Not only that but for three years, Julia gossiped about her, essentially setting it up so that she would retaliate or stand up for herself in response.
Julia could have just moved on and allowed her to live her life after their friendship ended. But now, Julia was upset once she experienced the consequences of her own actions. After Danny gave his opinions on the situation, he didn’t have anything more to say to Julia.
Now, Julia doesn’t have anyone to help her with her daughter, whom she had with a previous partner. Up until the breakup, her boyfriend had been helping her with childcare.
Since all the drama, Julia hasn’t retaliated or said anything on social media, and she hopes that nothing else happens.
