This 31-year-old man and his wife, 31, got married two and a half years ago after dating for five years.

They are deeply in love with each other and have a lot of happiness in their marriage. He admires his wife as a person and thinks she’s wonderful.

However, her brother has been a constant issue. In his opinion, his brother-in-law is domineering and acts like a child. Her brother’s behavior irritates him on a regular basis.

Sadly, his wife’s mother passed away two years ago. Afterward, his brother-in-law impulsively made the decision to move with his wife and children from Canada to the United States without visiting beforehand.

He and his wife live in the United States, and for six months, his brother-in-law started to borrow his wife’s vehicle.

While his wife’s brother was constantly using her car, he and his wife were still making payments each month on the vehicle.

As time went on, he got fed up with this because he and his wife often had only one vehicle to rely on.

He expressed to his wife that her brother needed to purchase his own vehicle instead of continuing to borrow hers.

“The day came, and he went to the dealership with my wife and their dad, and he got himself a brand new, $40,000 luxury car. Now, how did he do this without credit? Well, I found out shortly afterward that my wife co-signed for the car,” he said.

When he discovered this, he was furious, but he knew that his wife didn’t understand how terrible of a mistake she’d made by co-signing on her brother’s vehicle.

Within the last several months, his brother-in-law’s wife started working. Because of his brother-in-law’s and his wife’s work schedules, neither of them was able to pick up their children from the bus stop, which was located several apartment buildings away from theirs.

So, from Monday through Friday, ever since her brother’s wife got a job, his wife has been picking up her brother’s children from the bus stop.

According to his wife, this wasn’t an inconvenience for her, but in his view, they should have hired a babysitter to do this.

His brother-in-law has a 10-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son. Leading up to Thanksgiving, his brother-in-law’s daughter was off of school, but his son still had some days left of school.

His wife agreed to babysit her niece for a few days, so one morning, her niece was dropped off at their house at 6 a.m.

A couple of days ago, his wife was napping downstairs. While she was asleep, her niece went upstairs to their bedroom while he was working in his home office.

“I heard cabinets being opened and shut. We discovered spilled foundation all over one of our bathrooms and some broken things,” he explained.

At the time, he and his wife brushed it off as her niece just misbehaving. His wife has a jewelry box where she keeps her mother’s engagement ring and necklaces, all of them worth about $15,000 to $20,000.

When they were checking to see what else her niece got into, they realized that the jewelry was no longer in the jewelry box.

They repeatedly questioned her niece about where the jewelry was, but she just said she had no idea.

Even though this was an awful situation, their hope was that her niece put the jewelry in a different spot and just forgot, or, at worst, she stole the jewelry.

In either scenario, the jewelry would at least hopefully be recovered eventually. The other night, he went to the bathroom, and when he flushed the toilet, it randomly got clogged, which made no sense.

He wasn’t concerned at first and just plunged the toilet. In hindsight, he realized why the toilet was clogged.

“She must have either dropped them in and panicked, flushed intentionally, or HOPEFULLY stole them/misplaced them, and they’ll come up. When my wife was on the phone with her brother after we found out, he heard me asking his daughter with a raised voice, ‘WHAT DID YOU DO WITH IT?’ and had the gall to ask, ‘Why is he yelling at my kid?'” he shared.

He thought this was outrageous because he was in his own house, babysitting his brother-in-law’s daughter, who did something with someone else’s expensive and sentimental jewelry.

Despite his anger, he doesn’t think this is the child’s fault because she is young, but he did point out that she often misbehaves and, after the fact, pretends that she wasn’t the one who did something wrong.

What would you have done if you were in his shoes?
