Like everyone, this man sometimes struggles with things in his life. But, he doesn’t like to open up about any of his problems with people he’s close to.
“I don’t have too many friends, and I’m generally okay with keeping to myself,” he said.
Now, he is married. However, he never wants to talk to his wife about his feelings, either.
Apparently, he just doesn’t want to “bore her” with emotional topics. He’s also worried that she may eventually use his “vulnerable moments” against him later in arguments.
On top of that, he claimed that his wife already personally struggles with severe depression and anxiety.
He never wants to “burden her” with even more problems, especially if he might find those same issues pretty insignificant in a few days or weeks.
“Even though she loves me, and we have a good relationship, I worry about these things,” he admitted.
That’s why he started to talk to an AI chatbot, which was apparently recommended to him by his online therapist.
He didn’t realize that his conversations with the chatbot synced with him and his wife’s home iPad, though.

So, she wound up seeing the chats and going through everything he had talked to the chatbot about over the last few months. His wife was furious after finding the messages, too.
“And I told her that my therapist told me to use it for whenever I was upset but didn’t want to bother her, but she’s still really angry,” he revealed.
It’s also crucial to note that his wife had no clue he was even seeing a therapist in the first place. So, she’s pretty upset about him hiding that from her as well.
Both of these discoveries have caused a lot of tension in their relationship since his wife now believes that he’s been hiding other things from her.
“And I have been in the dog house this past week,” he vented.
So now, he’s wondering if talking with an AI chatbot about his emotional struggles instead of “boring” his wife was really the wrong thing to do.
Aren’t partners supposed to be able to talk to each other about anything? Is it concerning that he’s worried about his feelings “boring” his wife or being used against him later? At the same time, how would you feel if you found out your spouse was talking to an AI about their problems instead of you? Who’s in the wrong here?
