It’s no secret that when a woman is pregnant, she tends to be a bit more sensitive.

And why wouldn’t she be? On top of being responsible for growing a human being for nine months, pregnant women have to deal with so many overwhelming hormonal and physical changes that would drive anyone crazy.

One woman recently laughed at a joke someone made about her pregnant friend and now feels guilty after her friend became upset.

She’s 25-years-old and has a friend named Jessica, who is her age. Jessica is six months pregnant and is starting to develop a baby bump.

Recently, she was at the mall with Jessica. While they were standing by one of the mall directories, another pregnant woman, who was coincidentally wearing the same exact shirt Jessica had on, stood right beside her.

Jessica didn’t notice the pregnant woman standing next to her as she focused on the mall map. However, she couldn’t believe her eyes.

“She was obviously way bigger than Jess, and their mutual shirt didn’t even really fit her,” she recalled.

“It was still sort of loose on Jessica but was pulled super tight over [the other woman’s] belly.”

Finally, the other woman acknowledged the situation and made a joke. She looked at Jessica and sarcastically said, “Wow, that shirt sure makes you look like you’re about to pop!”

While she acknowledges it was a cheesy joke, in the moment, she thought it was hilarious.

“Jokes like that aren’t [usually] funny, but seeing a very pregnant woman [make] it just cracked me up,” she explained.

“I snorted super loudly and was about to start laughing before I saw Jessica’s face. She looked at the woman and huffed before looking at me and seeing me trying to hide my laughter [before] walking away.”

She chased after Jessica and apologized. She tried explaining that the woman wasn’t trying to make fun of her but was instead poking fun at herself and her big belly.

She told Jessica she only laughed because the situation was absurd. Jessica eventually forgave her, but only after telling her she thought she was a jerk for laughing.

After seeing Jessica’s reaction, she started feeling guilty about laughing at the woman’s joke.

Should she feel guilty, or was Jessica being a bit too sensitive?
