Rude customers exist everywhere you go, but those who have worked in restaurants claim that religious folk are a different breed.

On the internet, there are many examples of churchgoers who warn against sinning but indulge heavily in sinning of their own, such as tipping poorly or not at all and treating servers like they’re less than human beings.

TikToker Kellie (@ambryrae) is a restaurant host, and she’s sharing a story that involves this specific demographic of customers.

One Sunday, a party of 25 came into the restaurant after church. A lady from the large group asked Kellie how long it would take for them to be seated.

Kellie told her that the wait would be between 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes. She then wrote down the lady’s name and phone number so she could text her when her table was ready.

Twenty minutes later, she approached Kellie at the host stand again, saying that she had not received a text. Kellie explained that their table wasn’t ready yet.

Another 20 minutes later, she walked up to Kellie with a bunch of people in her party. Once again, Kellie told her that it would take an hour to an hour and 15 minutes to be seated.

Finally, their table was ready, so Kellie led the group to an area toward the back of the restaurant. Immediately, the lady complained about how it wasn’t a private room. Kellie informed her that they didn’t have any private rooms and that a table with 25 seats was the best she could do for them.

She left to warn the servers about the large party. Then, she returned to check on them. Most of them were walking around the room and hadn’t even taken their coats off yet. The lady waved Kellie over, asking how long it would take for their food to come out.

Kellie told her that the guests needed to be seated so the servers could start taking their orders. The lady insisted that everyone was already present, but Kellie stated that the service would run more smoothly if they were all seated.

Kellie was feeling agitated because, with each interaction, the lady kept getting a little meaner. The servers began to bring out the salad, bread, and appetizers. However, people started switching seats, so the servers ended up giving food to the wrong people.

When it was time for the second course, the table was still in chaos. The servers had to shout out orders and wait for people to claim their dishes.

The lady was complaining at full volume the whole time. Babies were crying, and many of the guests sent their food back to the kitchen. After everyone finally got their food the way they wanted it, Kellie left them alone for a little while.

But then, she suddenly heard some noise coming from the back area. The party of 25 was singing and dancing, and someone was even playing the tambourine. The other table across from them was laughing loudly and having their own conversation.

The lady asked Kellie if she could move the other table or at least tell them to quiet down so they wouldn’t interrupt their worship session.

Kellie told her that she couldn’t do that and that her group also needed to lower their volume so everyone else could enjoy their food as well. The lady went back to the group and announced that they were getting kicked out of the restaurant.

It took a while for the entire party to make their payments, especially since they all wanted separate checks. One of the bills was left unpaid, and the lady asked Kellie to “be somebody’s blessing” and take care of the bill for them.

Of course, Kellie refused. In the end, the lady left a $50 tip on a $350 bill.
