Pregnancy is supposed to be a time of anticipation and joy, not abandonment. But instead of preparing for life as new parents together, she's dealing with her husband, who’d rather live freely than honor his marriage.

She chose to move back to her hometown, where her parents have stepped in to give her stability. Now her husband is livid, accusing her of using the move to cut him out, while she’' just trying to survive and protect her child.

This 28-year-old woman has spent the last decade with her 33-year-old husband, Levi, and they got married five years ago. In a month, she will be having their firstborn baby.

Now, after she graduated from college, she moved to San Diego with Levi, as that's his hometown. She's from a big Midwestern city, but she's loved getting to live in California.

She was under the impression that she and Levi were happily married, especially since they planned their pregnancy and have been elated about being parents.

A couple of weeks back, Levi blindsided her by stating he wants a divorce!

"He said he didn’t want to be tied down anymore; he was still young and needed to live his life, etc. He said there was nobody else, but I know since then he’s been seeing someone," she explained.

"He wanted me to move out, but this is my house, too. I put down the down payment, even. So he’s been staying with his friend Louis. I can’t afford to live here on my own while maintaining my lifestyle."

"Sure, I COULD make it work, but it wouldn’t be the kind of lifestyle I’d want to live, especially with a baby. I make really good money even, but it’s so expensive."

She has made friends in San Diego, but she does not have a support system like Levi has, and none of her family members live out there.

She made the decision to move back to her hometown, and she got lucky because her company has an office there, so they were fine with her relocating.

Her parents, who are divorced and hate one another with a fiery passion, have shockingly come together to help her out. Since they both despise Levi for leaving her, that's helped them to bond.

Her mom and dad got her a beautiful rental home and insist she is not allowed to pay them back since she should be saving up her money to purchase a house when she's ready.

"They’re paying for my divorce lawyer and my copays at my new doctor here. They’re paying said I’m doing the right thing for my baby and are happy to help, my mom is about to retire and even wants to watch my baby while I work after my maternity leave. So it’s been an ideal situation for me!" she exclaimed.

"Levi is furious. He’s claiming that I moved to get back at him and am going to try to keep him out of our baby’s life. I explained very clearly that I couldn’t afford to be a single mom in San Diego, but he doesn’t believe me."

"He’s told everyone I moved back to get the upper hand on custody. That’s not why I moved, but it’s definitely a plus. His job doesn’t have any locations here, and they won’t keep him if he moves. He could get another job here, of course, but he says that’s too much to ask of him."

She let Levi know she will absolutely be going after him for child support as soon as their baby arrives. Since then, she has been bombarded with nasty texts from Levi, their friends, and his family members for moving to her hometown.

She doesn't think she's acting like a jerk because Levi forced her hand, and it's better for her to be around her parents. She's just feeling overwhelmed with all of the mean messages she's getting, and she's not sure how to respond, since they're accusing her of keeping Levi away from the baby.

Levi bailed on their marriage weeks before their baby's due date, and then expected her to stay put in a city with an unmanageable cost of living. That's not realistic.

I don't think she should waste energy defending herself to people who have already chosen to believe Levi's ridiculous story. Focus on the baby, lean on the parents who are stepping up, and let the court handle child support. Levi doesn't get to call the shots after walking away.
