Maybe every love story has two timelines: the one you think you’re busy living, and the one the universe coldly serves up to you. She thought hers was heading towards her happily ever after, but after her boyfriend’s accident landed him in the hospital, she found out that the real damage waiting to be discovered wasn’t on his body; it was buried inside his phone.
Two years ago, this 29-year-old woman started dating her 31-year-old boyfriend. They were living separately up until recently, and they made sure to spend three to four days in person each week and FaceTimed every single day.
But not too long ago, they purchased a home together. Both their names are on the contract, and they split the down payment.
She and her boyfriend are so in love that all of their family members and friends gush about how they have to get married soon, since they have a genuine romance.
Unfortunately, at the beginning of October, her boyfriend suffered an accident that left half of his entire body paralyzed. Her boyfriend’s mom was the one to fill her in on the tragic news, and she rushed as fast as she could to the hospital.
Following her boyfriend’s accident, she’s been at the hospital to see him every single day after she finished up at work. It’s a four-hour trip each time she goes, and she took a leave of absence from work to be by his side.
“His mom gave me his phone so I could inform his bosses and friends about his situation, but I never checked anything else on it (I’ve never gone through his phone before, even before the accident),” she explained.
“One day, he asked for his phone. After he put it down, I picked it up and saw an open message thread with another girl. They had been talking on the same day his accident happened.”
“I confronted him, and he admitted that he had been cheating on me with multiple women. He said they never met in person and that it was just for [steamy photos].”

Her boyfriend said sorry and swore that these other women didn’t mean anything to him. He begged her not to leave him and revealed that he had already purchased an engagement ring and was planning on proposing.
They had talked about getting married within a year (and she was saving herself for marriage), but obviously that’s no longer going to happen.
She ended up dumping him that same night that she found out about his infidelity. She did fill his mom in on what he did, and she has not gone back to see him since then.
While his mom says she understands why she broke up with him, at the same time, this woman is also pressuring her to change her mind and give him another chance.
“It’s been a week, and his mom still updates me about his condition,” she concluded.
Well, if her boyfriend really thought getting spicy pics from other girls was meaningless, he shouldn’t have done it in the first place.
Also, I can’t believe his audacity! He bought her a ring and was shopping around for other options! I think she needs to tell his mom that she wants her to quit reaching out, because what good is that doing? She’s making the best choice by leaving her boyfriend behind, and she shouldn’t second-guess herself.
