She Was Just 12 When She Convinced Her Boyfriend To Kill Her Parents

When TikToker @ashkatpod was in juvenile prison, she was friends with a few murderers. One of the murderers she was acquainted with was Holly Popovich, who killed her mother and stepfather when she was 12 years old. Now, she's diving into Holly's story.

"So, Holly's mother was actually a really good mom," said TikToker @ashkatpod. "I never heard anything bad about her mother. I know her mother remarried, and Holly had a stepdad, but they really cared about Holly's safety."

Like any good parents, they had rules for Holly to follow. They didn't let her roam the streets, and they expected her to do well in school.

But then, Holly started seeing this boy, and everything went downhill from there. She began sneaking out of the house and was failing school. She also started sleeping with that boy.

When Holly's mom found out, she forbade her from seeing the boy. Holly freaked out and told her boyfriend that her mom wouldn't let her see him anymore.

She also falsely claimed that she was pregnant. Her plan was for them to kill her mom and stepdad so they could run away to Mexico and have the baby.

The boy was absolutely smitten with Holly and would do anything she asked. On the evening of the murders, Holly got home from school. She and her boyfriend waited upstairs with a shotgun for her parents to come home from work.

When Holly's mom came home, she walked up the stairs to check on her. She opened the door to Holly's room to find her boyfriend pointing a gun at her.

He hesitated to pull the trigger, but Holly yelled at him to shoot. So, he shot Holly's mom in the neck. She did not die immediately; she lay on the ground, gasping for air.

Their plan was for them to kill Holly's mom upstairs and do the same thing to her stepdad. But when they realized how much blood comes out of a human being after getting shot, they went downstairs because they could no longer stomach being up there.

As soon as Holly's stepdad opened the front door, they shot him in the leg. He took off running and collapsed in front of a neighbor's house.

The neighbor came outside to check on him and called an ambulance. His last words were, "Holly did this." He died on the way to the hospital.

Holly and her boyfriend took off running on foot to a payphone. They called the boyfriend's aunt and asked her to take them to Mexico, but she called the police instead.

When @ashkatpod was in jail with Holly, it was a pivotal time in her life. She was now old enough to go to "big girl prison" or go home on parole.

Holly's boyfriend had gotten parole after being in prison for six years. Since he had hesitated to shoot Holly's mom, the court felt that he had been manipulated and under pressure. He also proved himself to be rehabilitated, so he was released.

Holly thought for sure she would get parole as well, but she was denied and was sent to big girl prison instead. Holly was bitter about it and took revenge.

Holly and @ashkatpod were responsible for cleaning the main office and watering the plants of one of the top officers at their prison. Holly watered the plants with bleach, and her vengeful act was further proof that she was not yet rehabilitated.

According to @ashkatpod, Holly is being released from prison this year. She hasn't heard from Holly since she got out of prison, even though they were good friends while they were locked up. Her opinion is that Holly should remain in prison for longer after taking her parents' lives.

"I don't believe she's rehabilitated; I really don't," she said. "Love the girl, had a great time with her. She's a lot of fun to be around. But do I think that she deserves to go home? Absolutely not."
