Most parents view time with their child as a privilege, but this dad only sees it as a service he's willing to provide...for the right price.

He admitted to withholding help and cutting visits short simply because he resents the downfall he believes his ex-wife orchestrated, and she's struggling with how to deal with such a crazy custody situation.

This 29-year-old woman and her 31-year-old ex-husband have an eight-month-old child together. Back when she was pregnant with her baby, her ex cheated and left her for this other girl.

She did take him to court so that she could get a record of their custody arrangement, and while they were having the hearing, the judge made the choice to make her ex pay her money for child support.

She thinks the judge took an instant dislike to her ex, and although he can be incredibly charming, that didn't fly with this judge at all.

She didn't ask for her ex to give her cash to help support their baby; she just wanted to make sure there was an agreement surrounding custody.

"Fast forward: he’s been inconsistent with our baby, flakes on visits, and spends money on his girlfriend and random stuff, but now he’s financially struggling and already owes back child support," she explained.

"Meanwhile, I’m exhausted, working two jobs from home with the baby most of the time. Yesterday, he straight-up admitted that he’s been withholding help and not keeping her longer because he’s mad I 'put him on child support' and feels like I’m 'preying on his downfall.'"

"He literally said he could’ve kept her longer the other day, but didn’t because he was in his feelings about the money. I told him this feels like him punishing me for having our child, and that his inconsistency is showing how much he resents me."

She wants to say this is all karma for how cruel her ex was to her while she was pregnant, but at the end of the day, she's tired, and the one left to deal with his failure as a dad.

Her ex did blame her for not having enough money for a down payment on a house, now that he is required to pay her child support.

However, the child support payments only kicked in three months ago, her ex hasn't given her a dime, and his wages are about to get garnished since he's not giving her any money.

Her ex has stated that he's willing to accept a 50/50 custody arrangement and pitch in on more childcare, but only if she removes him from having to pay the child support.

She's left wondering how she can quit taking this all so personally and treat custody more like a business transaction to spare her feelings.

She's also curious if she should agree to modify their existing child support arrangement.

Well, her ex sounds manipulative and narcissistic. It's time for her to get a lawyer to help her with the mess that is her ex. Of course, it's not fair of him to take out his resentment on their child, but he obviously can't see that he's hurting their kid here, and nobody else.

She shouldn't agree to make any changes to their child support and instead should leave this to a lawyer and the courts to deal with on her behalf.
