It's hard enough to find out that your spouse is cheating, let alone in the middle of you two trying to have a baby. What would you do if you found out your spouse went on a three-hour dinner date with their coworker? Would you want to fix things or file for divorce?
This woman was trying to have a baby with her husband, but while she was on a trip for work on the opposite side of the country, she uncovered her husband's affair.
He says it was just an emotional thing, but she doubts that. Her husband took his coworker out on a dinner date to a restaurant and spent three hours there in the company of the other woman, yet he didn't breathe a word of his plans to her.
A day after she found this out, she arrived back home to confront him. Her husband attempted to minimize the affair and referred to his coworker as simply a friend.
As for why he decided to have his little affair, because let's call it what it is, he said he didn't really know. He had no valid reason for her.
"He said he would cut off communication with her and only interact with her at work, except the next night I looked at his phone and saw a single text from her," she explained.
"Just one, but it was clear they were having a conversation...'I have to admit I’m falling asleep. Talk tomorrow?' I told him in that conversation we were getting a divorce, but I backtracked on it."
"I’m a dummy, I know, because he said he still wanted to try and make the marriage work. I left the house for several days, asked him to block her (he showed me he did). While I was away, he asked me to go to dinner one night, and I agreed."
As she was eating with her husband, 10 days after she learned of the date he took his coworker on, his phone rang, and she could see it was his coworker calling!

She instantly told her husband their marriage was over, and she's in the middle of filing for divorce. Her lawyer is busy creating her separation papers and giving her husband a deadline to move out of her house by February 20th.
It's certainly not easy for her to walk away from her husband and her marriage, but she's proud of sticking up for herself and not accepting her husband treating her like trash.
She is heartbroken, traumatized, and not happy about having to continue living under the same roof as him for the time being, but she knows she did the right thing.
It's a crushing blow to have found out her husband didn't care enough about her to save their marriage, but thank goodness she did not have a kid with him.
I don't think she was foolish to go back on the divorce the first time she brought it up, because it did come across like her husband was willing to work on things. But after she saw that his coworker called while they were out to dinner, she was right to end it.
What advice do you have for her?
