If your friend was about to marry someone who was bashing them online and behind their back, would you bring the proof to your friend?
This man and his social circle have been deeply worried about their friend's fiancée for quite a long time. They all believe this girl does not have his back, and the relationship appears toxic to all of them.
Their friend also seems to be struggling with his mental health, and how his fiancée treats him isn't helping. This girl controls everything he does, including what he eats and his activities, while claiming it's what's best for his health.
"A few days ago, he proposed and gave her a really beautiful, very distinctive engagement ring. She publicly posted excited engagement content on social media, so everything looked great on the surface," he explained.
One of their friends then found a post this girl had made anonymously in a group for discussing engagement rings, and it wasn't hard to tell it was hers because the ring was easily identifiable. Not only that, but her manicure has specific designs on it.
They were appalled to see their friend's fiancée bashing the ring and their friend! She said some truly horrible things about him.
"She was mocking his taste, calling him incompetent, and making comments that made it sound like her issue might not actually be the ring at all, but the relationship itself," he added.
"A lot of the replies were basically saying the same thing: that her reaction sounded deeper than just disappointment over jewelry, and more like resentment toward the person she’s marrying. Now we feel stuck."
"On one hand, if one of us were about to marry someone who was speaking about us that way anonymously online, we’d want to know. On the other hand, we also worry about interfering in something that may not be our place, especially since bringing it up could seriously damage the friendship or create a huge blow-up."

He's left wondering if they should tell their friend, as they took screenshots of everything, or if they should let him figure out alone that the woman he's about to marry is awful.
No, no, they should not keep quiet about this. Even if their friend doesn't believe him when they confront him, at least he will have all the facts.
There's no way they should stay silent and allow this poor guy to marry a woman who is bad-mouthing him behind his back and to strangers on the internet.
