There are many reasons to listen to your mother, but dating advice is not one of them. TikToker Caroline (@sweeet_carolline) learned this the hard way when she tried to be a good daughter and play along, only to end up finding out some dating drama that she did not sign up for.
So, her mom made her go on this date with a guy who was 6’10” and lectured her on keeping an open mind so she wouldn’t end up being 30 years old and single.
Now, she’s vowing not to listen to her mom again because she has always led her astray, and this most recent date was no exception. Honestly, after this dating fiasco, who could blame her? Her mom had practically shoved her out the door.
This guy lived in the city and didn’t have a car, while Caroline lived outside of the city. So, they decided to meet in the middle for mini-golf.
He seemed sweet and thoughtful, but she let him talk about himself for a while because she was sick and just wanted the date to be over with, so she could go home and rest. But once they started playing mini-golf, she actually had a lot of fun.
“I left my purse sitting on the tables next to where we were putting,” said Caroline. “Every time we would putt at a station, he would grab it for me and grab my phone, and I thought that was very kind. It’s small acts like that that really mean a lot to me.”
An hour and a half into the date, she told him that she wasn’t feeling well and needed to head home. She drove him to the train station and had to open her sunroof so he could fit in her car. That was how big he was.
He asked her out on a second date, suggesting that she pick him up from the airport and they could grab dinner. She told him that she didn’t know him well enough to pick him up from the airport, so they agreed on just dinner instead.
Later, Caroline received a message from a girl who claimed to know the guy she went on a date with. Sure enough, this girl sent her pictures and screenshots from women in cities across the United States.

Apparently, this guy has lived in a bunch of different places all over the country and love-bombed and ghosted women everywhere. He had left a trail of emotional damage in every time zone.
Caroline and this girl discussed it over the phone and became fast friends. She is grateful to the girl for saving her from a serial dater with a romantic rap sheet that spanned several states.
