Cheating on its own is devastating enough, but sometimes, someone picks an affair partner that makes it all that much uglier and hurtful.
Several days ago, this 43-year-old woman’s 46-year-old husband, whom she’s been married to for 19 years, said he had to seriously speak to her about something.
He had his mom pick their kids up and babysit for the night so they had private time to have a heavy conversation. When she got home from work that night, her husband was sitting in the living room, looking sick.
“He couldn’t meet my gaze, reached out for my hands, sat down again, and quietly announced he was so sorry, and he never meant for this to happen, but he had cheated on me,” she explained.
The affair has been going on for the last six months, and her husband tried to excuse his behavior away. He even asked her to remain calm, but she did snap at him, because how was she supposed to do that when he just confessed to cheating?
She also couldn’t understand why he was trying to rationalize it, since he should have requested a divorce before starting to see someone else.
He pleaded with her to calm down and said he wasn’t trying to cheat on her, but she walked out to her car and sat there for an hour, sobbing and spiraling. After she let some of her emotions out, she was ready to hear her husband out again.
Her husband revealed that at first, the affair was just secret and steamy messages, but then they slept together for the first time four months ago while she was away at work.
Since then, she suspects they have been hooking up regularly. Oh, and the best part is, this girl is none other than their 18-year-old son’s ex-girlfriend, Emily.

Her son James and his girlfriend Emily broke up two months ago after Emily dumped him out of the blue. Jame is still heartbroken, as he spent a year with Emily and she was pretty integrated in their family.
The only reason her husband decided to tell her about the affair is that two weeks ago, Emily said she’s pregnant, but she’s not sure if he’s the father or if James is.
“He told me he hadn’t planned or wanted any of this. He didn’t initiate the relationship. He tried not to get close with her, but he wasn’t strong enough mentally, and it just happened,” she added.
“Upon hearing that, I got up and left. I just couldn’t stay there listening to him any longer. I drove 30 minutes away and checked into a hotel for the night, turning my phone off.”
The following morning, she went to work, and when she got home to take care of the kids, her husband was waiting for her by the front door.
His eyes were red, probably from crying, and he pleaded with her to speak to him. She didn’t have it in her, so she simply went up to their room to lie down, and her husband started the waterworks.
Her husband blames Emily for coming on to him, but she thinks he’s more at fault than Emily is in this situation.
“He didn’t act in this alone, but to try and place all the blame on a teenager is quite frankly pathetic and makes me sick,” she said.
“It has been a few days since, and nothing has resolved. Things are back to normal for the sake of our children. James doesn’t know about the affair or possible pregnancy.”
It’s still the holiday season, and what’s supposed to be the happiest time of the year, and she doesn’t want to ruin that for her kids in the least.
She’s not speaking to her husband, but he’s busy trying to kiss up to her, as if that will make her forgive him or something.
She’s left wondering when she should tell James and how she can attempt to do damage control.
I think she needs to call a lawyer ASAP, and also she should demand a DNA test before saying anything to James. And she also needs to kick her husband out of the house.
