Fidelity Netbook VPC (Very Personal Computer) To Cost Just $199 USD

There is a new super cheap netbook in town and we might never heard of the company behind it, but the $199 price tag for the Fidelity Netbook VPC sure sounds like it will make us forget any qualms we would otherwise have. The 1.5lb netbook features wifi, onboard USB and ethernet ports, an SD reader, a 7″ TFT display with a 800×480 resolution, 2GB of internal storage, and what looks like to be a 100mhz processor. It’s obviously running linux with preloaded programs that include a internet browser, spreadsheet, word processor, a media player for movies, music and pictures, e-book reader, dictionary, calendar, PDF reader, email, chat, calculator, file manager and much more. The Fidelity Netbook VPC (Very Personal Computer) will be available in March. We were pretty psyched to hear about this cheapo netbook, and then we read about Dell’s $199 one day promotion pricetag for their netbook. All we can say is – Let the $199 Netbook battle commence!

Um I don’t see how this is worth $200

my mp3 player has an ARM processor almost that fast (80mhz) … and the you can already get an acer aspire with more SSD space and a faster CPU for $200

Im betting someone missed a “0″ and it is really a 1000Mhz ARM chip which would make sence at that price

This VPC sucks! I mean it, I had it for 2 hours and it froze and is now stuck on the loading screen. I am returning it today. Also the youtube videos are a pain to try and watch as it opens in a smaller window. This laptop is cheap because you truly get what you pay for. A whole lotta nothing with this unit. Don’t waste your money. Oh yah you cant even use the proper msn or facebook chats. You have to use a program they have installed
