A while back we wrote about, and even gave away Monster’s MDP 900 GreenPower outlet. The outlet is designed to eliminate “Vampire Load” energy waste. Now they’ve come out with two new GreenPower surge protectors that have been designed specifically for home theater systems. And heaven knows what a power guzzler a home theater system with a large screen TV can be. The new models include the black HDP 850G for $99.95 and the HDP 900G for $129.95. The way these surge protectors work is that users must plug in their TV or projector in to the main “Green Power Control Outlet” which in turn controls three other outlets outlets for connection of additional entertainment components (DVD player, A/V receiver, etc.). This way, when the TV is off, the other GreenPower outlets will automatically turn off, thus eliminating the energy that would have been wasted otherwise.
