Tonight Ford Motor Company and Sony presented the brand new 2013 Ford Taurus, with a little help from the band Train. The 2013 Ford Taurus will feature better fuel economy, more technology (yay), a more aggressive exterior, and overall improved craftsmanship. Albeit, the car was covered longer than when it wasn’t. For a grand total of 5 minutes, we were able to view it and hear about it before Train took over the show.
The Ford model that got the all the attention was new Taurus SHO model, which features their fuel-efficient 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine capable of pushing out an impressive 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft of torque. This model also features a sport-tuned suspension, performance brakes, 20-inch wheels, enhanced styling, and overall better handling and responsiveness.
Also available is Ford’s 2.0-liter 237 horsepower EcoBoost engine 237 horsepower that yields 31 mpg highway fuel economy and the standard 3.5-liter V6, which is 290 horsepower.
Heated steering wheel, massaging seats, push button start, auto brights, rain-sensing wipers, rear view camera, and rear window power sunshade, parking assist, adaptive cruise control, collision warning with brake support, blind spot information system, cross-traffic alert, and SYNC with MyFord Touch are just a few of the new tech and safety features that Ford is offering.
The icing on the cake, is that the 2013 will sport Sony audio technology and a new premium audio system. Which if the performance by Train is any indication of how the sound will be, the new Taurus should be a pretty impressive ride for your ears. You can see the new 2013 Ford Taurus starting this Friday at the New York Auto Show.
