Look out Withings, your fancy scale is about to become obsolete with the arrival of Fitbit’s debut of the Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale. That’s right at CES 2012 Fitbit introduced Aria, a new high-end performance scale, that will wirelessly track your weight, BMI and % body fat over time. Much like Fitbit revolutionized digital technology and fitness monitoring, they plan one doing it again when it comes to keeping your weight and performance in check on the scale.
On Fitbit.com you will be able to track your weight stats with graphs and use tools, like body composition profile, and access our weight management tools like food logging. You will also be able to share with the Fitbit community your weight loss journey. Aria supports up to eight different people in one household and will be able to differentiate who is being weighed at any given time. But that doesn’t mean you will know how much mom really weighs because her personal weight information is private and can only be shared if she wants to be transparent with the rest of the family.
Pre-sale for Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale will start on Jan. 9, 2012 (shipping in April) and will retail for $129.95 on Fitbit.com.
With the introduction Fitbit, people got exciting about exercising again, with the debut of Aria, they may actually want to get on the scale.
