Virgin Mobile USA has just announced that their prepaid plans will now include 4G service. Pricing will continue to be affordable, with plans starting at just $35 a month for 4G speeds, with unlimited data and messaging included, and no contracts. One of their first smartphones to offer 4G (WiMAX) support will be the HTC EVO V which runs on Android 4.0, and packs in a 5.0 MP camera, HDMI, a mobile hotspot, 1GB of ram, and a 4.3″ touchscreen. the HTC EVO V 4G will retail for $299. But unfortunately, the device is running HTC Sense 3.6, and not the latest Sense 4.0.
Virgin Mobile will also offer 4G unlimited data plans starting at $35 a month. Available to work with these new 4G data plans will be the Overdrive Pro mobile hotspot, with support for up to 5 devices, and the U600 USB stick which is both PC and Mac compatible. Both of these devices will also work over 3G, for times when 4G WiMax is not available. The Overdrive Pro will retail for $149, and the U6000 will retail for $99.
Virgin Mobile USA’s 4G plans and devices will become available starting May 31st.
