There are so many things you can do to make more money for yourself, and publishing your very own eBooks is one of them!
No, you don’t need to be a novel writer to publish your own eBook, and you don’t need to be the next New York Times bestselling author either.
Don’t be scared to put yourself out there and let’s get down to what you can do to make money publishing your very own eBooks.
Come Up With Your Idea
Your first step is to of course come up with your idea for what your eBook is going to be about!
Maybe you love cooking and can do something along the lines of 20 Amazingly Delicious Vegan Recipes.
Or, maybe you’re a teacher who has a bunch of exciting lesson plans you want to share. The opportunities are absolutely endless with eBook topics!
Start Writing & Choose Your Tools
Personally, I love Google Docs for writing absolutely everything I have to write. I use it every single day to write my blog posts, and it’s a great tool for writing eBooks too.
Another great feature is you can access your documents everywhere you go, so you can take your eBooks with you!
Get An Editor
Once you’re done, you’re going to need an editor to help you go over what it is your wrote. Yes, you can definitely go over your work once yourself, but sometimes we’re too close to what we create to see issues or things that need to be improved upon, and that’s why it’s helpful to have another set of eyes.
Ask your best friend or maybe even your Mom to help you look over your work. Another option is to Google different writing groups online who will be up to helping you out!
Pick A Catchy Cover
You know that saying, “never judge a book by its cover”? Yeah, well, people do! So make sure you pick a catchy cover image or photo that will really make an impact.
Pick Your eBook Format
The tricky thing about picking your eBook format is that not every single file type is supported by every single type of e-reader. Luckily, there are a few key file types that can help you cover mostly all of your bases here.
ePub is probably the most universal file type for eBooks. Nooks and iPads support ePub files, along with the majority of e-readers. If you’re wondering how you go about turning your eBook into an ePub file, check out the free Calibre. Not only can you use Calibre for converting files, it can also help you organize your e-library.
