Teen Disappears Walking Down The Street To Her Dad’s House And 8 Years After Her Remains Were Found Her Killer Has Been Arrested
Colorado City, Texas. 13-year-old Hailey Dunn lived on Chestnut Street in Colorado City.
Although her parents Clint and Billie were divorced, they lived practically right next to each other, and Hailey frequently walked back and forth from each of their houses.
Billie ended up leaving Clint for a man named Shawn Adkins, and then he moved into the house that Billie shared with Hailey, and Hailey’s older brother David.
Just a few days after Christmas on December 28th, 2010, Billie called the police to report that Hailey was missing.
All of Hailey’s belongings were inside of her room where she had left them, including her brand new iPod, her money, and her favorite clothes.
Those are certainly things she would have taken with her if she had run away, which is how she was initially labeled before she was reclassified a few days afterward.
Billie told the police that the day before, her boyfriend Shawn had been the last person to see Hailey.
Shawn would later explain that Hailey told him she was going to walk over to her dad’s house, then go to a sleepover with one of her friends.

Unfortunately, Hailey’s dad Clint said she never made it to his house, and Hailey’s friend had not seen her either.
Shawn started to act suspicious not long after Hailey was reported as missing. According to court documents obtained by Chip Chick, Shawn told investigators Hailey “was a good girl.”
But then, he changed his story and tried to say that she was “promiscuous” and that she was into drugs.
Investigators noted that Shawn was the only person they had spoken to that had anything bad to say about Hailey.

The investigation into Hailey’s disappearance continued for 3 long years. Clint, Shawn, and Billie all took polygraph tests regarding Hailey, but Clint was the only person to pass it he said.
In March of 2013, Hailey’s remains were sadly found in a remote area that happened to be only a few miles from the house that Shawn’s mom lived in.
Regardless of the fact that Hailey was now no longer missing, but murdered, it took an additional 8 years for her alleged killer to finally be arrested.
During that time, Hailey’s dad Clint tirelessly pushed for her to receive the justice she so deserves.

“All mothers who have been arrested for hindering their own missing childrens’ investigations. We see through it, you know. You’re not fooling anyone. When you choose a man over your child, every mother on Planet Earth knows it. The time for games is over. We have some surprises coming that won’t force YOUR hand, they’ll force HIS. And we already know he has no intention of covering for you. So if you ever want a chance at freedom, you might want to call your attorney and have a heart to heart with him. Feel free to think I’m bluffing. I’m not. Shawn’s freedom starts to go down today, you just don’t know it yet.”
“As mentioned in my last video, several members of my ex-wife’s family have come forward to say that Billie Jean has had discussions with them about Hailey’s death. According to those relatives, Billie Jean not only acknowledged being present when Hailey was killed, but refuses to tell law enforcement what she knows.”
“As a result of those conversations, I asked for more relatives to come forward with what they know. I have been given names of other relatives who most likely have information.”
“The reason I know Shawn killed Hailey is because the police told me he did it. They looked me in the eye and told me in 2011 that Shawn Adkins killed my daughter.”
“That means they’ve known for 8 years who killed Hailey. I don’t know why Shawn is still free. I hope that he won’t be for much longer, and anyone protecting him could also face charges.”
“I am disappointed in Billie Jean and David for choosing Shawn over Hailey. 8 years of silence on their part tells me all I need to know.”
Just yesterday, Shawn was arrested and charged with murder. His bond was set at $2 million dollars, according to jail records.

Authorities have not commented on who Shawn has been accused of murdering, and a post from the Howard County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the DA’s office will be the one providing more information.

Clint and his dedicated team confirmed the news of Shawn’s arrest on Facebook.
“Shawn has been officially transferred to Mitchell County, Texas – the home county of Hailey Darlene Dunn,” one of their recent posts explained.
“For anyone to suggest (including some local press!) that his arrest is NOT tied to Hailey’s case is a waste of our time. We are no longer willing to entertain the nonsense. We did our jobs! Now, do yours!”

Tonight at 7:30 p.m., Clint will be holding a vigil at 1804 Chestnut Street; the address of the home Hailey lived in with her mom that has since been torn down.
