She Was Found Dead And Naked On The Side Of The Road Nearly A Year Ago And After A Warrant Was Issued For Her Husband’s Arrest He Took His Own Life

Houston, Texas. 26-year-old Alexis Sharkey was an Instagram influencer who moved to Houston,  in the earlier part of 2020 along with her husband Tom.

Her Instagram account was full of beautiful photos of her traveling the world with her friends and husband.

Right before Thanksgiving of last year, Alexis spoke to her mom Stacey and then she disappeared. On November 28th at 7:58 at night, Stacey took to Facebook to issue a desperate plea.

“Please share this post!!! My daughter, Alexis Sharkey, is missing!! No one has heard from her for over 24 hours and the police are involved,” Stacey explained.

“She has lived in Houston Texas since January and that was where she was last seen. Please help us find her and bring her home safely!! We are so very desperate!!! Please share!!”

That same day, at approximately 8 a.m., a person who works for the City of Houston noticed feet sticking out of some bushes close to Houston’s Katy Freeway.

The person decided to investigate and found a young woman lying dead on the side of the road, without any clothes on.

That’s when they called the Houston Police Department, who later confirmed that the young woman was sadly identified as Alexis.

They also mentioned that strangely enough, she had no wounds or injuries that they could see.

When Alexis’s death was made known to her family, they posted tributes to her on social media. Her mom Stacey said, “It’s with deeply broken hearts that Mike and I want to let you all know that Lexi’s body has been found.”

“We cannot begin to thank you all for your love and the kind words you’ve extended to our family!”

“Please give us this time to grieve this incredible loss to our family and this world!!! We will miss you, Love!!!!”

Alexis’s husband Thomas posted several photos of her, saying, “My world! My everything! I’m so lost right now! My one and only!”

A few minutes after his first post, he shared another one. “You made life so incredible! Made sense of my existence! My purpose! And showed me how to truly love!”

The investigation into Alexis’s death has been ongoing for close to a year now without any updates from the Houston Police Department.

That all changed 4 hours ago when the Houston Police Department live-streamed an update on Alexis’s case.

Michael Burrow with the HPD Homicide Division said in a press conference that, “The investigation determined that Thomas Sharkey, her husband, is the only person who had the means, motive, and opportunity to have committed the murder.”

He then went on to say that Thomas had tried to pin Alexis’s murder on other people, which investigators were able to rule out.

Michael then pointed out there was “a history of domestic violence” between Alexis and her husband.

“The relationship was ending and there was a pending divorce. There was also clear evidence that Thomas Sharkey had not been truthful about several key issues and statements that he made to police,” Michael explained.

On September 29th, the police finally had enough evidence to charge Alexis’s husband with her murder.

Authorities found out that Thomas had moved from Houston to Fort Myers, Florida. The U.S. Marshalls quickly discovered that Thomas was living with one of his family members, and last night at around 10 in the evening, they made contact with him inside that house he was residing in.

As soon as Thomas found out that he was going to be arrested, he used a gun to take his own life.
