Taking Things Offline: 7 Awkward Yet Necessary Questions You Need To Ask That Person You Met Online When You Go On Your First Date In The Real World
Online dating is hard, I know! There are a few awkward but necessary questions you need to ask on your first offline date though to help you figure out if this is someone you can move forward with.
These questions will definitely help you to determine if your date has potential while not overwhelming them (or you) in the process.
Read on to find out what you absolutely need to ask!
“What are you looking for?”
Definitely have the guts to ask what someone is looking for! Is your date ready to settle down or continue being a party animal and unwilling to commit?
This is probably the most important question you can possibly ask because it’s going to let you know right away if you two are on the same page.
If you’re looking for commitment and a serious relationship, but they’re not, don’t even entertain a second date.
“How do you feel about (insert a deal-breaker for you)?”
You should absolutely not be afraid to casually ask about some of your deal-breakers upfront.

For example, if you have been cheated on and really care about someone that can be monogamous, ask “How do you feel about monogamy?”
For you to wait for a few dates to ask about what really matters to you is just a waste of your time.
“What’s one thing you want me to know about you?”
This is one super-smart question to ask your date because it gives you the opportunity to get to know them on a more personal level without having to do too much digging to get there.
“Does That Make You Happy?”
As your date is discussing their career or goals, or where they are at in their life currently, ask them if that makes them happy.
Ask them with a smile so they’re less likely to be defensive or put out. It’s a great way for you to gauge their happiness and honesty.
Pay attention to their body language as you ask this too because what they end up saying might be different than how they really feel.
“Are you close to your family?”
This one is touchy, but it gives you everything you need to know.
If you don’t want to be with someone that has terrible family issues or fights with their siblings, now is your chance to know before you get too invested.
How they answer this will also give you insight into their maturity level and attitude.
“What’s something you have always wanted to accomplish?”
We’re wading into deeper waters here!
By asking your date about something they have always wanted to accomplish, you gain insight into how your futures might match up and how compatible you really are.
You also will be able to tell if your date is ambitious or selfish, or just full of crap.
Those are all things to know upfront.
“When would you like to get together again?”
If you’re feeling this first date and you’re interested in having a second, ask when they would like to get together again!
Don’t make them guess if you are truly interested!
