A 24-year-old man is engaged right now to his 25-year-old fiancée named Holly, and his wedding will be happening this upcoming summer.

He is the only child that his parents had, and growing up, he really believed his mom and dad were perfect for one another.

However, when he turned 14, he found out that his mom was doing things behind his dad’s back with one of their family friends.

It “broke” his dad to find this out, and then, his mom became “unrecognizable.”

“She was a great mom and always felt like she was affectionate with my dad,” he explained. “But she became cold right after everything came out.”

“My parents tried counseling but my dad couldn’t look at her. The divorce was horrible. My mom went after my dad so hard.”

His mom attempted to gain full custody of him while financially ruining his dad in the process. The entire time this was all happening, his mom stayed in her relationship with this family friend.

As all of this occurred, he made it clear to his mom that he wanted nothing to do with her if she continued seeing the man who previously was a friend of their family.

After that, he decided to live with his dad and no longer speak to his mom since she refused to stop seeing the guy she left his dad for.

He says that it “took years” until his dad returned to his normal self. Meanwhile, his mom moved to a new house just several blocks from where he was living with his dad, and his mom always tried to have a relationship with him even though shot her down.

Anyway, after he proposed to his fiancée Holly and told his dad, his dad wanted to know if he was going to share the news with his mom even though his mom has not been in his life.

“I told him I didn’t and I wouldn’t be inviting her to the wedding,” he said. “Well, I guess he took it upon himself to call my mom up and inform her. And then they started talking.”

“3 months ago I show up to my dad’s and him and my mom are there. They sit me down and tell me that they have been dating.”

“I called him dumb, pathetic and reminded him of all the things mom did to him. How she’s probably only back because she’s out of money and places to go.”

His mom got involved and tried to say something, but he left. Since that day, his mom has been attempting to weasel her way into his wedding.

He already made everything crystal clear to his dad; if he tries to bring his mom to his wedding, he’s not going to allow that at all.

“My dad is “distraught” according to relatives,” he continued. “Because he feels like he has to choose between his only kid and his wife.”

“I told my dad that it was going to be like this from now on. Any holiday would be a solo invite. I wouldn’t be bringing my grandkids around his house if my mom was there. So he needed to think carefully.”

He is aware that his entire side of his mom’s family has been going around bashing him, and in response, he is uninviting all of them from his wedding too.

Holly is completely sympathetic to him and his situation, but he just wants to make sure that he is doing the right thing here.

Should he ban his mom from his wedding, or allow her to attend?
