She Found A Hole Behind Her Bathroom Mirror That Led To Another Creepy NYC Apartment
New York City apartments are known for their high prices, tiny square footage, and often shocking plumbing layouts.
But, one city dweller named Samantha Hartsoe recently discovered the creepiest apartment flaw to date.
Samantha took to TikTok one evening after realizing that her apartment was freezing. She had her apartment’s heat turned all the way up, yet a mysterious breeze was still coming from her bathroom.
In fact, cold gusts of air were flowing through her bathroom’s door frame and electrical outlets. So, she began inspecting her bathroom.
Samantha soon realized that the air was coming from behind her bathroom mirror. She had no clue that the mirror was even removable, but once she took it off the wall to peek behind, the woman was shocked.
There had been a massive hole behind her mirror the entire time she lived there. Plus, the hole led to what looked like another room.
Samantha invited some friends over for moral support and decided to investigate the secret passageway herself.
She put on a mask, strapped a flashlight to her forehead using a headband, and even brought along a hammer for protection.

Then, after slipping through the hole, Samantha discovered an entire apartment hidden behind her mirror.
It was clearly not being lived in and had dirt and debris everywhere. There were also trash bags strewn about the apartment.
But, that does not mean people could not frequent the apartment as a hangout spot.
In fact, Samantha discovered that the apartment’s door was not only left unlocked but was also ajar– meaning that, theoretically, anyone could have entered the abandoned apartment and intruded into her place.
She made sure to lock the door before going back through the mysterious hole and said that her landlord would be receiving a well-deserved phone call in the morning.
And since sharing her bizarre discovery, Samantha’s series of TikToks have collectively reached over 47 million people and gained nearly 5.8 million likes.
People from around the globe have been begging to know what Samantha’s landlord said, and she finally delivered answers in a new update.
Apparently, the update took so long because her landlord was not getting back to her.
They played “phone tag” for a while before the landlord provided an extremely vague answer.
“They said there was construction and that they were fixing up the room.
But, the issue I have with that is the cold air has been coming through my outlets for months, and I have never heard construction noises,” Samantha said. How bizarre.
And we will likely never learn what really happened because the TikToker also announced she was moving out the same day she shared the landlord update.
So, perhaps the hole in the wall will remain a strange mystery forever.
