She Got Super Embarrassed When Her Fiancé Sang Happy Birthday To His Son At A Restaurant, And It Sparked A Huge Argument
This thirty-year-old woman has been with her fiancé, Ned, for about a year and a half now. Ned also has a five-year-old son with his ex-girlfriend and does not have a custody arrangement in place.
Nonetheless, her fiancé has his son for the majority of the time each week since his ex-girlfriend is currently battling some health problems.
And even though she gets along great with Ned’s son, she has some issues with Ned’s parenting.
“His son is lovely, but I noticed that Ned takes him everywhere he goes– including places that aren’t child-friendly. We have an issue with that now, but we are working on it,” she revealed.
Anyway, Ned’s son’s fifth birthday was just a few days ago and prompted her to find even more things wrong.
It all began when they went out to dinner to celebrate. And despite her noting the restaurant was nice, she immediately thought it was unfitting for a five-year-old’s birthday dinner because it was “somewhat expensive.”
Regardless, she, Ned, and Ned’s son all sat down, ordered food, and had a good time. But then, the waiters brought out a birthday cake, and she was totally shocked.
Apparently, she had thought that they were going to eat dessert at home so they could be free to sing and celebrate like no one was watching. But, the real cherry on top was when Ned started singing happy birthday to his son– which supposedly really embarrassed her.
“I was stunned, and I almost dropped my plate. He was singing it at the top of his lungs, not even looking around or paying attention to how many people were staring at us awkwardly,” she said.

Then, she actually tried poking Ned and whispering for him to stop. However, Ned ignored her and continued celebrating. Plus, Ned’s son was over the moon excited.
For whatever reason, though, she could not understand why no staff members got involved to stop him.
In fact, she was actually taken aback that a woman even went over to their table and offered to take a video of the whole event.
And, if you could not have guessed it, she did not get involved in the singing or the video at all. Instead, she just sat there sulking and angry about the entire thing.
So afterward, Ned asked her what was wrong, and she responded with a snarky, “Thanks for finally noticing!”
Then, once they got to the car, she flat-out told Ned that his singing happy birthday to his son totally embarrassed her.
Understandably, Ned was totally confused and had no clue why she would get embarrassed by a common birthday occurrence– especially at restaurants.
Plus, Ned reiterated how his son’s mother is sick, so he had been trying to cheer his son up the best he could.
Still, though, she kept trying to explain how awkward and embarrassed she became.
“I told him we could have done it at home when we would be more comfortable and free. But, he took that as if I was ashamed of him and his son,” she explained.
And eventually, Ned just got so angry that he said he was done discussing it.
So, it has now been a few days since the happy birthday song fiasco, and they still have not spoken.
“It appears he’s still salty about what I said,” she vented. You think?
Anyway, she is still baffled that Ned would have sung to his son in public and believes that he is being too harsh about her feeling embarrassed.
Nonetheless, Ned’s lack of communication has also pushed her to wonder if she was really a jerk to him and his son.
