“My entire family, including my parents and everyone I have ever known is here, our jobs are here, and I’m sorry, but I’m not moving my daughter…just not happening.”
She and her husband both said thank you to her mother-in-law on the call before saying that although they were grateful for her offer, they don’t want to move. Her mother-in-law promptly hung up the call and has since gone nuclear on social media.
Her mother-in-law has posted about her and her husband being a bunch of ingrates while also accusing them of thinking it’s ok to raise their daughter in a city full of crime (their city is not full of crime, though).
“All her friends are backing her up in the comments about how I’ll be a terrible mother, and she is offering us a house and home for our baby,” she said.
Her mother-in-law thinks that she and her husband are terrible people for saying no to the down payment because it is such a kind gesture.
“All this is making me feel guilty as hell,” she continued. “My husband says to ignore her, but this is stressing me out, and here I am at 4 am stressing and feeling like a bad mother before my daughter is even born.”
Do you think she and her husband should have accepted the offer of a down payment for a house in the south?
