This woman and her husband recently went on a vacation, and they were both super excited about the trip since she claims they were long overdue for some rest and relaxation.

They traveled to an all-inclusive resort that had a bunch of great amenities. But she and her husband also wanted to get out and explore the tropical island as well– not stay couped up on the resort grounds.

So, they decided to create a little system. More specifically, she and her husband were each allowed to pick one activity that would get them outside of the resort for one day.

She ultimately picked a hike that would lead them out into the mountains and through some rainforests on the interior of the island. And even though her husband was not a big hiker, he ended up agreeing to go with her.

As for her husband’s activities, he narrowed his choices down to two options. One would be a catamaran trip to go snorkeling, and the other was a dune buggy ride.

Now, she claims to get horrible motion sickness. In fact, during their flight to the resort, she and her husband reportedly experienced mild turbulence.

And even though she took Dramamine before the trip, she apparently became very nauseous and lightheaded.

So, she ultimately had to tell her husband that neither of the outings he picked was a good idea since they would make her motion sick.

Of course, this upset him, and he pointed out how they probably would not be wild enough to make her queasy. Honestly, though, she was not willing to take that chance.

“I told him that I know my body, and I know without a doubt that both of those activities would make me sick,” she recalled.

Then, she asked her husband if there were any other excursions he was interested in. Unfortunately, though, he claimed that snorkeling and dune buggy riding were the only two that really piqued his interest at the time.

In turn, her husband agreed to go on her hiking trip first. Then, he thought that they could just figure out the second activity afterward.

Anyway, the hike started out great. But, during their walk, they ended up meeting another couple who was also staying at the same resort.

Then, after they started talking, she and her husband found out that they had stayed there a few times before and had actually done both of the activities her husband was interested in.

That other couple claimed that both the snorkeling and dune buggy rides were really fun.

“But, the wife did say that the catamaran trip was pretty rough at times, and a couple of people on their trip had gotten seasick. She also said that the dune buggy was fun because you get to drive it yourself, but it’s mostly on dirt tracks that can get pretty bumpy,” she added.

So, from the way that the other couple described the activities, she already knew she would get sick from both of those activities. And as soon as she and her husband got back from the hike, she told him that.

Additionally, she begged her husband to pick out something else– anything else– that he would rather do than those two activities.

Apparently, though, her husband just was not interested in anything else. He also claimed that if she did not want to do the activities, then he would not do them, either, because he did not want to go alone.

Anyway, throughout the rest of their trip, she could tell that her husband was upset. He went from being super excited and talking about those two excursions to being way less enthusiastic.

Don’t get me wrong: she does not believe her husband was sulking, per se. But, she noticed that his demeanor had totally changed, and he was not his usual fun and animated self.

Plus, throughout the rest of their vacation, her husband reportedly just sat around by the pool and did nothing. She claims that she did try to get him up to do other activities– like getting a massage– but her husband actually just told her to go get one by herself.

And eventually, after her husband’s attitude did not change, she decided to finally ask him what the problem was. Then, the truth finally came out that he was honestly just disappointed in her.

Apparently, he claims that he really stepped out of his comfort zone to go on that hike with her. But, when it came to his activities, he felt like she just did not return the favor.

She kind of took offense to that, though, and pointed out how hiking did not make her husband sick. So, she believes that there was a big difference and that it was not fair for her husband to make that comparison.

Nonetheless, her husband is adamant that she could have at least just tried one of the excursions. After all, they were supposed to try new things together.

So now, with the vacation over and her husband still pretty disappointed about how it went down, she has been left wondering if refusing to do the activities her husband wanted even though he went on her hike makes her a total jerk.

Do you believe being prone to motion sickness is a good excuse for not wanting to try her husband’s activities? Could she have tried to use other motion sickness treatments during those excursions and stopped if they became overwhelming? Or is it unreasonable that her husband expected her to do something she did not feel comfortable with? If you had been in her shoes, how would you have handled this?
