She No Longer Wants To Go To A Wedding Because Her Kids Weren’t Invited, But Other Children Even Younger Than Them Were Both Included And Asked To Be In The Ceremony

This 30-year-old woman and her husband, who is also 30, have two daughters– who are five and three years old.

And her husband has a 40-year-old stepbrother and a 25-year-old cousin who he has always been close with.

“The three of them have always been a part of each other’s lives,” she said.

Anyway, her husband’s cousin will soon be getting married. So, after the engagement was announced, her husband was invited to be a groomsman at his cousin’s wedding.

Then, his cousin also asked his stepbrother’s daughters– who are 10 and 7-years-old– to be in the wedding as well.

Yet, her own kids were not asked to be a part of the wedding, which she was honestly upset about.

Once she actually expressed that her feelings were hurt, though, she got told that the only reason why the other two girls were invited was because they were older. So, her husband’s cousin claimed that her daughters were just too young.

“I was not happy with this,” she admitted. “But it’s not my wedding, so I put my feelings aside.”

However, the rehearsal dinner eventually rolled around, and after she arrived, she realized there were actually eight other kids there.

And what made it even worse was that all of the kids were between the ages of 1 and 8 and had either been asked to be a part of the ceremony or simply invited to the wedding.

Not to mention, all of the children were the groom’s distant relatives– unlike her kids, who were very close to her husband’s cousin.

So, she was seriously hurt and even decided to tell her husband that she just didn’t want to attend the wedding anymore. However, her husband thought she was overreacting and accused her of just being dramatic.

Since then, her husband’s family has found out about her being upset, too, and they also think it’s not a big deal.

“His whole family just keeps saying, ‘Oh, it’s so much more fun not to have your kids. You should be happy you get a night off,'” she explained.

Quite frankly, though, that’s just not how she feels about the situation. Since she loves her kids and feels like she has a close-knit family, she would love it if they could attend the wedding.

And now that she knows other children are invited to the event, she just feels like her own kids are being treated very unfairly. Nonetheless, since her husband disagrees, she has now been left wondering whether not wanting to attend the wedding unless her kids are invited makes her a jerk or not.

Can you understand why it upset her that the cousin lied about why her kids really weren’t invited? Do you think she’s overreacting by not wanting to go to the wedding? How would you feel if you were in her shoes? Would you still go to the event?
