His Wife Had Elective Cosmetic Surgery, Even Though He Didn’t Want Her To, And He Cannot Stand To Look At The Results

This 42-year-old man and his wife, 37, have been married for more than 15 years.

Recently, his wife decided to have voluntary cosmetic surgery, and he despised the way she looks now that she’s recovered.

Several months ago, his wife told him about the surgery and that she was going forward with it. However, he wasn’t at all comfortable with the idea and was not on board with her decision, and he made that very clear.

“I thought the whole thing was a waste of money, dangerous, and I find the aesthetic unappealing,” he said.

He expressed all of this to his wife, but she still said she would have the surgery anyway.

Later on, his wife met with a doctor that she thought seemed great, and she scheduled the surgery.

A little over a month ago, his wife informed him that she had her surgery date scheduled and she would need someone to drive her to and from the hospital. She added that she would need to rest in bed for several days, and the total recovery time until she was fully healed would be intensive, with a timeframe of roughly 14 to 20 weeks total.

His wife’s surgery would be drastic, more than a nose job or something similar. The surgery would involve numerous procedures done at one time.

Once more, he responded and said that he thought that this surgery was a horrible thing to do, and he assured her that she looked amazing already.

He reiterated that he doesn’t find the results of cosmetic surgery to be physically appealing, and he pleaded with her to take her time and think it through before she goes through with the surgery.

All his wife said in response was that if he wasn’t willing to take her to and from the hospital, then her mother would do so instead.

“It’s her body, but I was very adamant that I was against it. Fast forward about six weeks. The results are what she expected, and she is happy, and the results are what I expected, and I’m mortified,” he explained.

“I feel she has mutilated herself. I’m not overreacting. Her own family thinks the results are questionable. I have heard them, so this isn’t just ‘my opinion.'”

Since the moment he met his wife, he’s always believed that she was absolutely gorgeous. He told her this when they first started seeing each other and has always let her know how pretty she is throughout their entire relationship.

After his wife’s surgery, they haven’t been able to sleep in bed together because his wife needs to sleep in particular positions so that she isn’t in any pain.

They most likely will have to sleep separately for quite a while. Even though his wife was out of bed and moving around five or six days after her surgery, she understandably still has to exercise caution and take it easy over the next several months until she is completely healed.

“I have a hard time looking at her and get a deep sense of loss and sadness, and the relationship is coming off the rails (fighting, nasty comments, and silent treatment),” he shared.

“My wife is mad at me for my reaction, says I’m being ridiculous and unsupportive, and I’m responding with, ‘I told you exactly how I would feel, and you did it anyway. What did you expect?”

As their argument continued, his wife pointed the finger at him for his anger and emotional distance.

She told him that she could do what she wanted with her body and that he didn’t have control over her decisions about what she did with it.

While he agreed with her point of view in theory, in his view, being physically attracted to someone is crucial within a romantic relationship.

Even though his wife is still the same person on the inside, she physically looks like a completely different person entirely. He can’t shake the fact that she disregarded his feelings before going ahead with this surgery.

How would you feel if you were in his shoes?
