For three years, this 20-year-old woman has been planning her wedding to her partner, Michael, 21.

She and Michael are having the wedding of her dreams this October, and her sister is getting married in just a couple of weeks, on September 30.

“Because she had planned her wedding late, not many options were available for her. She couldn’t find a nice dress due to her tight budget, and the fact that she was five months pregnant with a kind of visible bump wasn’t helping,” she said.

On the other hand, she has been planning her wedding to Michael since she was a child. Her parents and Michael’s parents were close, so she and Michael knew each other since they were young and were always good friends.

She had booked the wedding venue and catering company, bought her wedding dress, and chosen the florist all well before her sister broke the news both about her engagement and pregnancy.

Her sister’s fiancé, 26, proposed this past February, but her sister didn’t begin the wedding planning process until August, so her procrastination was a lot of the reason she was struggling to get everything arranged for her wedding.

“One day, my sister texted me, asking to see my dress ‘out of pure curiosity.’ I harmlessly sent her a photo of the dress (I had purchased it a year in advance),” she explained.

The following day, while their whole family was gathered together, her sister told everyone that she had decided on a wedding dress.

She was thrilled for her sister and asked if she could see what it looked like.

“‘Here it is,’ she said as she pulled out a dress. I was shocked, to say the least, when she pulled out an exact copy of my dress,'” she shared.

“When I asked her why it was the same dress as mine, she replied, ‘I just liked your dress so much I thought I’d reach out to the stylist. I mean, you looked nice, but it fits my belly more than you.”

She and the rest of her family were furious, but none of them fought with her sister over it at the time. Now, she is still planning on wearing the dress she bought. Her whole family has stopped communicating with her sister, and she uninvited her sister from her wedding.

In response, her sister told her that she was being self-absorbed and claimed that she was only upset that she bought the same dress because she couldn’t deal with the fact that she would look better in it.

She’s not angry that her sister purposely bought the same wedding dress as she did. Instead, she feels slighted that her sister wanted her to just allow her to get away with it. During the argument with her sister, she requested that her sister return the dress and purchase a new one, but her sister rejected this option.

In the midst of all the drama, her family stuck by her side, and once her sister refused to return her wedding dress, her family stated that they wouldn’t be attending her sister’s wedding. But her sister’s fiancé’s family has reached out to her in anger, calling her self-absorbed, dumb, and other offensive names.

Do you think she had the right to ask her sister to return her wedding dress?
