She’s Pregnant And Plans To Put Her Baby Up For Adoption, But She’s Refusing To Let Her Sister, Who Is Struggling With Infertility, Adopt Her Child
This 17-year-old girl is currently 21 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately, her ex-boyfriend broke up with her when she broke the news to him that she was going to have a baby.
After weighing her options, she ultimately planned to put her baby up for adoption after the birth.
“My sister, 24, is struggling with infertility. She and her husband tried for kids for two years. She miscarried a few times,” she said.
Her sister also attempted IVF, but it didn’t work. Throughout her sister’s struggles, she’s voiced her hope of having her own biological children rather than looking into adoption, stating that she thinks she wouldn’t be able to connect with an adopted child in the same way.
Yesterday, she had a doctor’s appointment for her pregnancy. Prior to the appointment, her sister and husband requested to attend the appointment with her, and she told them that she didn’t want them to.
“They said they would really appreciate it if they could go and see if the baby is healthy and hear the baby’s heartbeat. I asked them why they wanted to do that (it was really weird for me because I know how much they were heartbroken after their last miscarriage),” she explained.
In response, her sister and her husband continued insisting that they just wanted to verify that the baby was okay. Understandably baffled, she asked them what was going on.
Then, they said that since she was planning to put her baby up for adoption, they hoped she could allow them to adopt her baby so that her child was in the care of a relative.
She said that she was not going to do this, and her sister was furious, asking her why not.

Attempting not to get upset, she expressed her concern about being around her child, whom she didn’t want to raise herself. Plus, she believed that this could make relationships tense and confusing among their family.
“At that point, my sister started crying uncontrollably, and my brother-in-law started screaming at me that I’m a selfish brat, telling me how I don’t care about my sister’s feelings,” she shared.
Then, her sister told her that she was a terrible sister and mother, criticizing her choice to allow people she didn’t know to adopt her baby instead of giving the child to a relative.
This comment from her sister went too far, in her opinion. She was angry, and she told her sister that if she hadn’t been so entitled, she could have adopted a child. After that, she told her sister and her husband to leave her alone, and she walked out.
Once she left, her mother told her that she was self-centered and accused her of treating her sister terribly. Her mother added that she should think of others instead of only herself.
