This 23-year-old girl met a guy 10 years older than her at work, and they instantly got along well.

They ended up growing closer and hanging out a lot as friends, but it was obvious they both had crushes.

Eventually, they started seeing one another, and she says they’re now in a situationship. One night, they both had a lot to drink, and they started discussing their prior relationships.

He confessed to her that when he was in his early 20s, a 15-year-old daughter of his family friend ended up moving in with him since the family friend was a disaster.

He said he became very good friends with this teen girl, and they shared a bond working on cars together.

“He told me that nothing ever happened between them, but he could tell she had a crush on him… I was a little bit on edge at this point because I knew where this story was likely going, but [I] gave him the benefit of the doubt,” she explained.

“Then the bomb was dropped, the infamous “on her 18th birthday” line was dropped, and I kind of tuned out for a second mostly in shock that he was admitting to [this].”

“I laughed at him and tried to razz him sarcastically like, “Oh yeah, sure, it was totally platonic until the clock struck 12 on her 18th.”

He then went on a small rant about how he did not do a single thing wrong and getting into a relationship with this teenager destroyed his life.

He ended up losing all of his friends, and people in his community essentially shunned him because they thought it was strange.

She pointed out that it indeed did not look good for him to start dating a teen who had lived with him for years.

He shot back that he had to be innocent since this girl’s mom trusted him around her, and she said that no, considering her mom was an addict, she probably didn’t have her daughter’s best interests at heart.

“He got extremely upset and repeated that his life was ruined and he had to move out of town,” she said.

“What he said next really did it for me, he was in a relationship with this girl for 5 years, and she moved with him out of town.”

“…Knowing all this on top of the fact that I know all his past girlfriends have been under the age of 25…I’m seriously considering cutting my losses because [the behavior] is one thing, but then having no shame about it and feeling as if you did nothing wrong seems kind of scary and childish…but when I tried to talk about it further and kind of dig, he clammed up and changed the subject.”

Do you think she should end things with him?
