Her Husband Was Asked To Leave The Family Locker Room With His Daughter By Another Mother At The YMCA, And She’s Furious That He Didn’t Stick Up For Himself

This woman and her husband have been arguing about a recent situation her husband was in.
A few days ago, her husband went with their daughter to a pool party at the YMCA.
His daughter was the last child out of the pool, and after she was done swimming, he took her to the family locker room to get changed.
When he entered the locker room, there was a woman already there with her daughter and a baby, and no one else was in the locker room at the time.
The woman saw him and immediately said that his daughter could be in the locker room but that he couldn’t, and she told him that he needed to leave.
No adults had been swimming, so it was only this woman’s two children that needed to get changed.
After the woman told him to leave, he walked out with his daughter and waited until the woman and her children left so that he could get his daughter changed in the family locker room.
“He didn’t feel comfortable bringing her into the men’s locker room, and he said you couldn’t pay him to enter a women’s locker room. I was upset with him because I never want our daughter to feel uncomfortable being in any situation with her father,” she said.
In her opinion, this woman should have taken her children into the women’s locker room to avoid the scenario of men possibly entering the family locker room.

During their discussion, she told her husband that he should have stood his ground and told the woman that the family locker rooms are inclusive for everyone. She thinks he also should have expressed to the woman that she should have gone to the women’s locker room or a private bathroom if she wanted a space with more privacy.
“My husband’s argument was that as a man, no matter what he would have said in a bathroom situation, he would have been in the wrong, and he did not want an argument. He didn’t want the woman to get too aggressive in front of our daughter and make it more uncomfortable,” she explained.
Plus, this woman and her children were attending the birthday party like his daughter, so he didn’t want to cause confrontation and make things awkward for everyone.
Once he got his daughter changed, they all went to the party room, and he was the only father in attendance.
He knew that if he’d argued with this woman, it would have been like walking “into a lion’s den” if word got around that he fought with her when he was told to leave the family locker room. Since he was aware that he was the only father at the birthday party, it was a better choice to just keep the peace.
Her husband works full-time to support their family, so she usually is the one who has more time to go to school events and their daughter’s friends’ birthday parties.
But on the day of this pool party, she was feeling a bit under the weather, so she asked her husband if he could take their daughter to the party so that she could stay home and rest.
After the drama with the woman in the family locker room, she feels terrible because this was her husband’s first time taking their daughter to a friend’s birthday party.
“I told him our private school is filled with entitled women who need to be reminded, politely, that they don’t own every room because that’s exactly how 90% of them act,” she shared.
After she heard how her husband responded to the woman who scolded him for going into the family locker rooms, she wished that she had been there so that she could have stood up for her husband.
If she had been there, she would have snapped at the woman and not allowed her to get away with her rude behavior.
In addition, she brought up the fact that if her husband was a single father or if he didn’t have a female partner, using a family locker room would make the most sense for him. She believes that family locker rooms are meant to include everyone.
Do you think she is wrong for being upset with how her husband handled this situation?
