He Got Fired For Overloading A Customer’s Burrito Bowl With Sour Cream Because They Supposedly Placed A Big Order At Closing Time

There have been so many legendary feuds between people on the internet, and I never thought I’d see one between a restaurant employee and a customer like this.
A shady internet ‘feud’ between a former Chipotle employee and a customer has gone viral on TikTok after he recalled the story of getting fired because of the bowl he made for the customer, who responded to his story with revealing receipts.
Eli (@lifeaccordingtoeli) is a TikTok creator who went viral for telling the story of how he got fired from Chipotle for overloading a customer’s bowl with sour cream, and pictures of the bowl were uploaded to social media.
Eli explains in his video that he was working a closing shift at Chipotle one night and was extremely annoyed when he received a last-minute online order for 12 burrito bowls around 10:00 pm, prolonging his shift.
After all, what employee wouldn’t be angry about that kind of order at the end of the night?
Eli explains that despite his anger, he made the bowls, and by the time he got to the last one, he wanted to teach the customer a lesson.
“When I got to the last bowl, it said ‘extra sour cream’ as one of the ingredients,” says Eli.
“I don’t know what came over me, but I just kept putting more and more scoops of sour cream in the bowl.”
Eli added so much sour cream to the bowl that it was inedible when finished. He then took a picture of the bowl and sent a photo of it to his friends as a joke.

Eli then says the customer picked up their burrito bowls, and he had forgotten about the incident until three weeks later when his boss called him into his office and fired him.
Eli had no idea the owner of the sour cream-filled burrito bowl had posted pictures of it on TikTok and tagged Chipotle, and they received millions of views, which Eli described as a “PR nightmare.”
Because Eli’s boss had security footage of him making the bowl that night, he let him go.
Eli’s video seemed to be posted to get viewers to side with him and go against the customer for rudely putting in a massive order so late at night.
That’s when the customer quickly clapped back, posting a response video with “receipts.”
The customer, Rebecca (@beccado1), who went viral for posting the sour cream bowl to TikTok, made another TikTok on the same day as Eli, with photographs of her Chipotle receipt from that night.
To the internet’s surprise, Rebecca’s photos proved she did not order 12 burrito bowls; she only ordered one. Additionally, she ordered to pick up the bowl at 8:30 pm, not 10:00 pm, contrary to what Eli said.
Once Rebecca’s response video was up, users quickly returned to Eli’s page, trying to inform him of what happened in the comments.
The following day, Eli commented on his video that he could’ve “sworn” Rebecca’s order was larger but that perhaps he was “misremembering” what happened.
It’s fascinating to see how quickly people can enter and resolve drama on the internet within a matter of 24 hours. Hey, at least the situation was cleared up!
