This 30-year-old woman has a younger sister named Lucy, who’s 27 and considered the “golden child” in their family. According to her, Lucy is beautiful, smart, and constantly the center of attention – no matter the occasion.

“I always felt like I was living in her shadow, but I’ve never said anything because, well, she’s my sister, and I love her,” she said.

However, after she got engaged, she was excited to finally have one day – her wedding – be all about her, with no one overshadowing her or her partner.

Unfortunately, though, even that didn’t go as planned because when she tied the knot just last weekend, her sister Lucy stole the spotlight once again with a huge announcement.

For some context, just a couple of months ago, she found out that Lucy was pregnant, and she was genuinely happy for her sister. But, only one week before her big day, Lucy called her and thought it would be an “amazing” idea to announce the pregnancy during her reception.

Apparently, her sister felt that would be the perfect place to “surprise” all of their family members with the news – saying it would be “such a special moment for everyone.”

She was totally taken aback by Lucy’s idea and firmly told her she wasn’t on board with it.

“I had spent months planning this day, and I wanted it to be about my husband and me, not a pregnancy announcement,” she reasoned.

Her sister wound up accusing her of being selfish and overreacting. Nonetheless, she stood her ground, flat-out told Lucy no, and thought that was the end of the issue.

Well, that all changed in the middle of her wedding reception. She’d had a wonderful ceremony, and everything was going great until she noticed Lucy looked a bit “smug.”

Like clockwork, her sister suddenly tapped a glass for attention, stood up, and told all of her guests that she was pregnant.

Of course, her entire wedding reception began clapping and cheering; meanwhile, she was literally frozen in shock.

“People immediately swarmed my sister with hugs and questions, and suddenly, my wedding was no longer about me – it was about Lucy and her baby,” she revealed.

She was visibly livid, and everyone could see it, including her husband and her bridesmaids. Even so, she didn’t want to cause a big scene and ultimately left to cry in the bridal suite. At the same time, her husband attempted to console her.

Still, she felt heartbroken, and the worst part was how her sister never apologized. Instead, the very next day, Lucy actually reached out and claimed she was “being a drama queen,” especially since the rest of her guests were happy about the pregnancy.

Her parents have taken her sister’s side, too. They believe she’s acting immature by being upset and should’ve “let Lucy have her moment.”

“But a few of my cousins and friends have reached out to tell me that they thought what Lucy did was selfish and wrong,” she vented.

Now, with practically her whole family divided on this, she’s wondering if being upset that her sister hijacked her wedding like that is really so unreasonable or not.

Does she have a right to be angry at her sister? How do you suggest she moves forward from this?
