It isn't 1950, and a classroom is not a boxing ring. After her daughter used a word in class that her teacher didn't like, it triggered a physical assault.

While the school attempts to circle the wagons and withhold evidence, she's doing everything she can to ensure this isn't swept under the rug.

This woman recently received a call from the principal at her daughter's school informing her that her daughter's 8th-grade teacher hit her hand with a ruler.

She asked her daughter for her side of the story, and her daughter relayed to her that she was chatting with her friends and used the word "freaking."

The teacher demanded to know what word she had just used, and her daughter clarified that she hadn't sworn or said anything bad at all.

"The teacher then proceeded to tell her to come to her desk and hold her hand out. Grabs a thick [wooden] ruler [from] her desk and smacks my daughter's hand with it," she explained.

"My daughter says she was just in shock and said nothing more and went back to her seat. The teacher didn’t say anything else as well. Says her friends convinced her after class to go to the principal's office."

"She’s a straight-A student on the honor roll every single year since elementary. So she isn’t one of those troublesome kids that causes problems in the classroom. Which is why I felt she was targeted."

This is hardly the first time they've had problems with her daughter's teacher, as this woman loses her daughter's schoolwork and then makes her redo it.

She has gotten into the habit of snapping photos of her daughter's work to try to combat this on her own. She lives in the state of Virginia, and she's aware that it's not legal for a teacher to discipline children the way her daughter's teacher did with that ruler.

She's not convinced the school will fire her daughter's teacher over this incident, but she's going to push for that to be the resolution, as she believes this teacher truly crossed a line.

Her daughter's school is giving her the run-around, and they're clearly only concerned with protecting themselves, not her daughter.

So, she filed a police report and a report with CPS. She's contacted the Virginia Board of Education, several news outlets, and the superintendent of her daughter's school district.

Apparently, the school nurse took photos of her daughter's hand after the teacher hit her, but they're not releasing them to her.

The teacher is currently on administrative leave pending an investigation by the school, so she's not sure what else she can do to make sure her daughter gets justice.

Well, I think it's suspicious that the school nurse is refusing to give her the photos of her daughter's hand. I think the next best move for her is to get a lawyer to help her with all of this. She needs to go scorched earth.

What do you think? Why would a school nurse take photos of an injury but refuse to release them to the legal guardian of the child?
