What’s worse than being cheated on? Finding out about it alongside millions of Netflix subscribers. With talk of a showmance and an unexpected distance that smells of guilt, the red flags on her boyfriend are flying higher than a production crane after he came home from filming a Netflix reality show.

Is his newfound arrogance just a side effect of his time spent in the spotlight, or is he picking fights because he cheated, and that’s already been caught on camera?

This 43-year-old woman and her 46-year-old boyfriend have been dating for a year and a half. Her boyfriend calls her his wife and alludes to her daughter being his kid, so he’s pretty ingrained in their family by now.

Her boyfriend just filmed a Netflix reality show, and literally on the day before leaving, he was eager to hurry on over to the courthouse and officially get married.

She stopped her boyfriend and said she wanted to make sure that their wedding wasn’t rushed so their children could all be there with them. Long story short, they did not get married before his trip.

“He’s always told me ‘forever.’ He wasn’t able to speak to me for almost 2 weeks, which seemed agonizing. He had to go to the UK, and [it] was his first time out of the country, so I was super excited for him,” she explained.

“When he finally got to call me, he seemed so different and very arrogant-sounding. He said the whole show is geared around him…specifically.”

“He was telling me that he was offered to be on other shows and made comments like people were basically swooning over him, and life is going to be so different once this airs.”

Her boyfriend recently returned from his Netflix-fueled getaway, and it’s like he morphed into a different man overnight. His ego is completely out of control, and he’s acting like he’s already this famous, A-list celebrity.

She’s given him some grace, as she gets that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him, and he’s still feeling intoxicated from the whole experience.

But alongside his arrogance, there’s been a growing distance between them since her boyfriend came back. He is self-centered instead of focused on being a team.

Her boyfriend’s friend, whom he made on the show, came to visit not too long ago, and her boyfriend kept on crafting excuses for why he couldn’t introduce her to this person.

“I felt hidden, but again…trying to be understanding. 2 days ago, a mutual friend mentioned he said Netflix might try to make it seem like he was in a ‘romance’ on the show,” she added.

“I confronted him, and he’s saying if they do, it’s just for ratings, etc., because he’s the ‘main character’ and the ‘hero’ of the game show. I wasn’t aware there were ‘heroes’ on this show, lol.”

“He’s been very argumentative and almost starting fights for no reason with excuses of just being so bombarded with all this. I want to trust him as he swears he would never cheat, but when I think back, he didn’t send me one pic after he had his phone back and ghosted me for an entire day and a half after he made it back to the hotel.”

All of her loved ones will watch the show when it airs, and she’s scared that her boyfriend hooked up with one of the other players, and all the world will get to see that, which will make her look foolish.

She has wondered if her boyfriend has been picking fights with her because he feels ashamed and guilty for something he did do on the show.

Her mind is racing, and she’s left feeling puzzled and heartbroken. She would love nothing more than to believe that her boyfriend didn’t cheat on her, but in her heart of hearts, she knows it most likely happened during filming.

Well, thank goodness she’s not married to him, because that makes it easier to walk away. I guess she just has to wait and see what’s on the show when it drops on Netflix, so she can confirm if her boyfriend crossed a line or not.

Or, she could leave him now if she’s convinced something happened. It seems likely, as he’s already told a friend that the show will make it appear as if he’s in a romance with another woman.

What advice do you have for her? How much do you want to bet he’s going to say whatever happened on the show was something he did for the ratings?
