A few weeks ago, TikToker Oliver (@oliverlovespickles) was at the World Trade Center when something “weird and paranormal” happened to him. He went to New York for the first time during his spring break.

“I was really curious to see how I would feel going into a space where so many terrible things had happened, where so many people had passed,” said Oliver.

“I expected the space to feel really crowded. On that same trip, we went to Ellis Island. We went through the hospital, and that felt kind of crowded to me. Expected the same from this space, and I kind of found the opposite.”

Being at the World Trade Center memorial felt like being in an energetic void to him. It was almost as if someone had pushed a mute button on the world to stop the noise.

There were people all around him at the memorial, but it felt like they didn’t exist. He felt very alone.

These feelings continued with him as he explored the museum. The energy started changing when he reached the bottom level of the foundations of where the towers used to be.

He was having a hard time concentrating on the museum exhibits because he was overcome with a strange, warm feeling.

He and his sister decided to leave. Before they left, he stopped to use the bathroom. He was alone when a man wearing a suit walked in.

He appeared disheveled, surprised, and anxious. He looked at Oliver with the most perplexed, scared expression on his face. Oliver got the feeling that this guy wasn’t supposed to be there.

He tried to avoid eye contact and focused on washing his hands. When he glanced back up, he saw two shadows rush behind him. Afterward, he realized that he might have just seen a ghost.

He and his sister were so drained by their experience at the memorial that they canceled their reservation at a restaurant, went home, and slept for hours.

In the comments section, many TikTok users described their own freaky experiences regarding the memorial.

“My daughter was four, and we went to the city for the day. It was about a week before 9/11. We were in Battery Park getting ready to go home. My daughter looked at the towers and said she wanted to go there now. Since we were tired, we told her we would come back in a couple of weeks. She insisted we go then because they won’t be there when we come back,” commented one user.

“My dad worked in construction on the subways near the trade center. I still remember him nonchalantly one day saying you can still hear them. We’re all so connected,” shared another.

“I went to the 9/11 memorial at the beginning of this month. When I went to the women’s bathroom, I was terrified. I was so scared, I washed my hands quickly and left. No one was in there. I met my husband outside the door and told him that the bathroom definitely has some strong energy that I couldn’t handle,” wrote a third.
