Consider this a preview of one of the cool toys that will be coming out at CES in just a few weeks. The Rē Remote Control accessory for the iPhone attaches to the base of your iPhone and using its accompanying app, the device transforms your iPhone into a fully functional universal remote control. We’re talking about an advanced remote control with an extensive built-in IR Code database, the ability to define unlimited rooms with unlimited number of devices, as well as the ability to learn IR code from existing remotes, and you can even customize button images. The remote does not require Wi-Fi to operate either. Just last week I scrapped my dedicated GPS nav system for an iPhone app, and now it looks like my iPhone might be on its way to replacing my remote control. What can’t this thing do at this rate?
More details will be announced at the New Kinetic’s CES press conference, but in meanwhile you can find out more information on the New Kinetix website.
