This Bride Opened Up About The Things She Spent Money On For Her Wedding That Were Just A Waste

When planning for your wedding, it’s hard not to want to pick out the cutest and fanciest things for your special day.

There are so many great ideas for things to incorporate into your special day, from photo booths to build-your-own dessert bars. But in the end, it all adds up and can get quite expensive.

One bride on TikTok named Brooke (@ryanandbrooke) makes a lot of videos about weddings with her husband Ryan and is giving other women tips on what to do for their big day.

One of her videos listed some of the things she spent too much money on at her wedding that ended up being unnecessary.

“I had a large range of prices of items that I bought for my wedding day,” says Brooke. “But I’m gonna make a list of items that were just not worth it.”

There’s some debate around the kind of shoes a bride should wear. Some believe you should go all out on an expensive pair of heels; some say a pretty pair of comfortable flats will do the trick.

Brooke says she spent too much money on her pricey pair of gorgeous Jimmy Choo heels.

“No one ever saw them,” she says.

Brooke knew she would want a pair of white ‘wedding sneakers’ to change into during her reception, but she feels she spent too much money on them.

She thought if she got a really nice pair, she could wear them again. Instead, she says they are “trashed” and ended up finding an almost identical, much cheaper pair after her wedding was over.

“Don’t do it,” says Brooke as she points to a picture of her sneakers before they were ruined.

Brooke heard from a couple of people that she should buy a special bottle of perfume so that she would have a specific “wedding scent” to remember. She ended up buying a bottle that cost her a pretty penny.

“No one could smell it by the time I was at the wedding,” she says. “Ryan never noticed it, not worth it.”

One item that Brooke feels ’50/50′ about is her wedding invites.

“I was glad I spent a lot of money because people were really excited about them,” she says. “But at the end of the day, they go in the trash. So it’s kind of worth it, kind of not. It’s a toss-up.”

Other women commented on Brooke’s TikTok, mostly agreeing with all the items she listed and providing tips on what to do with these things once the wedding is over.

“I wore Vans at my wedding, and I wear them almost every weekend,” commented one user. “Best decision I made.”

Another user recommended using the perfume for date nights and special events with your spouse, to which Brooke replied, “That’s a great idea!”

Although it may be easy to fall down a rabbit hole of Pinterest wedding ideas, just make sure it’s going to be worth it in the end.
