This woman is currently the lead teacher at a daycare and specifically works in the early toddler room.

And since teachers have to step away from their classrooms from time to time– whether to use the bathroom or take a break– there are some teachers known as “floaters” who take over in these instances.

While most of the floaters are reportedly wonderful, however, there is one woman in her early fifties named Anne, who she claimed is always inconsiderate during naptime.

Apparently, whenever Anne is called in to cover a break or take over when she has to go to the bathroom, the woman will just talk really loudly and tends to wake up some of the children.

So, she has tried talking to Anne about the issue in the past. But the floater always just denied being loud whatsoever.

“I also spoke to the directors, and they brought it up in a staff meeting because it was a common complaint for not just Anne but another floater,” she added.

While the other floater’s behavior improved, however, Anne’s did not. And just a few days ago, after Anne entered her room and disturbed her kids again, she finally snapped.

It all began after Anne was called in to cover for a bathroom break. Then, even after the floater’s help was no longer needed, Anne still decided to linger in her room.

Apparently, Anne is friends with her assistant named May. And since Anne had nowhere else to be, the pair of women started chatting it up.

But May made sure to speak pretty quietly. Anne, on the other hand, talked very loudly as usual and actually woke up two children.

That’s why she decided to “gently” shush the floater. Still, Anne just didn’t get the hint and asked, “Why are you shushing me?” very loudly.

At that point, she pointed out how Anne was being too loud and causing the kids to wake up from their naps. However, Anne just reasoned that there were only 30 minutes left of naptime anyway, and some of the kids had woken up already.

Regardless, she told Anne that she wanted the remaining kids who were still asleep to get the rest of their naptime uninterrupted. And that did keep Anne quiet for a little while.

But it just so happened to be raining outside that day, and the storm really grew in intensity while Anne was chatting with May inside her room.

So, Anne started asking very loudly if it was raining a couple of times. And since the blinds in her classroom were drawn for naptime, they couldn’t actually see outside, and she just whispered, “I think so.”

Rather than moving on from the topic, though, Anne actually walked over to the sound machine and claimed that she “wanted to hear the rain.” Then, the floater just turned off the sound machine– which three different children needed to sleep.

And as soon as the sound machine was off, those three kids immediately woke up and shot up inside their cots.

By that point, she had had enough. So she actually told Anne to just get out of her classroom. Still, Anne became quite offended and claimed that she couldn’t force anyone out of her classroom.

“But I said it was my room, and I absolutely could,” she recalled. “I told Anne that she had no right to touch our property and interrupt nap.”

Yet, the floater still refused to leave, which forced her to call and get the daycare’s director involved! Now, once the director arrived, Anne was forced to leave just to mitigate any more drama.

But the very next day, she was actually called into a meeting with admin that was asked for by Anne. During the meeting, she got accused of being rude and making Anne feel “unwelcomed” in her classroom.

Plus, her bosses even asked if she would apologize to the floater. However, she stuck to her guns and told her bosses that she just would not apologize to Anne.

“I said Anne is very rude and disruptive. The solution is that Anne will no longer come in my room, barring there is no one else in who can,” she explained.

Other coworkers at the daycare have since found out about what happened, though. And apparently, some of the other teachers agree with Anne that she was rude and actually believe that she had no right to kick the floater out of her classroom.

“Yet, when I conferred with an online teacher group I was a part of, they said I was right,” she vented.

That’s why, ever since the incident, she’s been left wondering whether kicking the floater out of her classroom for constantly disrupting naptime was the right thing to do or not.

Why do you think Anne refused to keep it down for the sake of the kids? Can you understand why she got so frustrated with the floater’s disregard for naptime? Did she have a right to kick Anne out of her classroom? How would you have handled this situation if you were in her shoes?
