She Thinks Her Dad Is Using His Sick Sister To Guilt-Trip Her Mom Into Paying His Mortgage After He Blew All Of His Money Flaunting Mistresses In Other Countries
When this 24-year-old woman was just 14, her whole life was uprooted. Her dad decided to sell both his business and their home. Then, he relocated her family from a big city to a new small town.
Her grandfather passed away not long afterward, too. So, her mom had to travel out of the country to grieve the loss.
And while her mom was away, her dad decided to send her mom a photo of another, larger home that he also decided to buy without even asking her.
At that point, her dad claimed the home was paid for entirely upfront– meaning there would be no mortgage.
So, her mom allowed her dad to sign on her behalf. Afterward, her parents also began investing in a company in Africa.
Once they made those investments, her dad wound up convincing her mom to “retire” on their savings for a few years or until their business picked up.
Then, her dad proceeded to fly back and forth on business trips to Africa. However, she later learned that these business trips were filled with secrets.
While her dad was in Africa over the years, he wound up having three children. On top of that, it turned out that her dad never actually paid cash for their home. Instead, it was really bought under a mortgage– which her mom only discovered years later.
“The previous business was sold for $1.5 million, our house for just under $700,000, and the new house was worth about $255,000. So, you do the math,” she said.

Still, those were not the only secrets her father had been hiding. Instead, she and her mom also learned that he had been cheating while in Canada– flaunting his money and mistresses in front of other people. Plus, her dad would reportedly badmouth her mom all of the time.
After rolling in all of that money and blowing it on other women in Africa, though, her dad’s finances eventually came crashing down.
First, he ran his new business into the ground. Then, he got another woman pregnant and wound up marrying that mistress.
So, her dad then tried to steal her older sister’s college fund– which was valued at over $50,000– that her mom had saved up. Her dad even tried to take her own college fund too.
That’s why she is still reeling over all of the lies. She cannot believe how little she truly knew about her father– especially after hearing such terrible stories about how he treated others.
“I feel like the money and status he got while married to my mom– the first business was hers before they married– got to his head, and he made a series of bad, selfish decisions that are biting not only us but him too,” she explained.
“He did all that just to be broke in two countries and have eight kids and two wives that he can’t provide for.”
Yet, just one week ago, she received an email from her father. Within the message, he shared how he was out of the country since his sister had gone into a coma.
So, her dad revealed how he would not be able to pay their mortgage payment for two months.
Now, at first, she did feel kind of bad for him. However, that all changed after she discovered he had recently taken out another loan– valued at $150,000– just to bring his new wife traveling!
Her dad’s irresponsibility has now caused their total mortgage amount to be greater than the original home’s price.
Yet, he decided to forward divorce papers to her mom before claiming that he would let them keep the home in Canada.
“If my mom convinces her cousin to give back for free the house in Africa that he sold to her in the first place,” she added.
Since hearing about her dad’s request, she feels like he is just using his sister to both pressure and guilt trip her mom into trading houses and not paying the mortgage.
That’s why she wound up making a comment about her dad’s sister being in a coma, saying, “What about it?”
But while she didn’t intend to make it seem like she didn’t care about his sister’s illness, her mom still got mad at her for being disrespectful.
So now, she’s been left wondering whether thinking her dad is just using his sick sister makes her a jerk or not.
