She’s Telling The Story About Her Wild Roommate Who Snuck Out Her Bedroom Window To Cheat On Her Boyfriend
If you lived in a college dorm or moved to an apartment in a big city, chances are, you’ve had a roommate at least once in your life. If you’ve never had a single issue with any of your roommates, you’re extremely lucky.
Most people who have lived with a roommate have gone through a few bumps in the road in their living situation, and this woman’s story is no exception.
Taylor Mathis (@taylormathis117) is a sports journalist who recently took to TikTok to tell a story about a roommate she had early on in her career.
“Everyone’s had that wild, crazy roommate story,” says Taylor in her video.
“What I dealt with was insane.”
After Taylor graduated from college, she got a job offer to be a sports reporter for a television station in Nebraska. Her boss at the time put her in touch with another girl her age who would be working for the same TV station in case they wanted to be roommates.
Taylor and this girl met and got along, so they rented an apartment together. At first, everything was awesome. They had a lot in common, often went out together, and quickly became best friends.
One of the biggest things they had in common was that they were in long-distance relationships with their boyfriends. Taylor and her boyfriend eventually broke up not long after her move to Nebraska, but her roommate and her boyfriend stayed together for a while.
Her roommate’s boyfriend visited the apartment several times and seemed like a great guy.

During her time in the apartment, Taylor started casually dating a guy who played in an indoor football league she did a story on. When they first started dating, they kept things slow and casual since she had just gotten out of a long-term relationship, and he was moving to California.
Taylor introduced this guy to her roommate, who really liked him and often talked about how great he was.
When the football player moved to California, he and Taylor decided to keep in touch to see what would happen but agreed that they weren’t committing to each other and were allowed to see other people.
One night, Taylor and her roommate went to a few bars with their co-workers. While they were out, Taylor started talking to a nice guy who asked for her phone number. They exchanged numbers, but that was all that happened.
The next morning, Taylor woke up to a few texts from the guy in California. He had received Facebook messages from an account with a mysterious name and no profile picture. The messages contained pictures of Taylor talking to the random guy in the bar the night before. How freaky is that?
Taylor immediately started defending herself since she thought he was mad about her talking to another guy. But he wasn’t mad at all. Instead, he explained that he sent the messages so she would know some creep was taking pictures of her in public.
Taylor and the football player started thinking about who would’ve known about their relationship and its circumstances. That’s when she realized her roommate was one of the few people she had told and was with her that night at the bar.
“I keep thinking about confronting her as the week goes on,” remembers Taylor. “And I’m noticing she’s being very weird.”
Her roommate stopped talking to her and would avoid being in the same room as her. Finally, Taylor sat down with her roommate to talk, and she asked her what was going on.
Then, her roommate said, “Well yeah, last weekend I felt like you were cheating on California boy.”
Taylor had to remind her roommate that she and the football player were not exclusive and were allowed to see other people.
When Taylor asked her if she was the one who took the pictures, she quickly denied it and said she would never do anything like that, which was hard to believe. After their conversation, her roommate became even more distant, and their relationship was never the same. Which was a shame, considering they were extremely close at one point.
Taylor got a new job in Illinois two months later and moved out. She and her roommate never spoke again. Taylor entered a serious relationship with the guy in California, and they were together for years.
After her move, Taylor got a call from a former co-worker with some interesting details about her former roommate. Her roommate announced she would leave the TV station about a week after Taylor moved.
When they lived together, Taylor’s roommate had been sneaking out to cheat on her long-distance boyfriend with another guy who lived in their apartment complex. She would sneak out to her bedroom window so no one would see her leaving out their front door.
Then, she announced she would be moving away with the guy she was secretly seeing.
“That girl was 100% projecting on me,” says Taylor. “Because she felt guilty the whole time for what she was doing. There’s always that one wild roommate.”
