When this guy was still with his ex-girlfriend, she actually wanted him to surrender his elderly dog just so they could get a “cute little puppy” together.

His ex wouldn’t even negotiate the suggestion, either, and literally told him that he had to choose– either her or his dog.

“So, I broke up with her,” he recalled.

For most pet owners, this would be a pretty understandable decision, too.

Anyway, his elderly dog wound up hanging on for two more years after that before passing away at the age of 14.

Throughout that entire time, he didn’t speak to his ex-girlfriend at all, either. However, his parents– who he claimed really wanted a grandchild– promised his girlfriend to let her know when his dog died.

He had no idea that his parents had made this arrangement with his ex, though. Well, that was until she reached out recently following the death of his pup.

But she wasn’t even sympathetic about the loss of his long-time pet. Instead, she asked him something pretty snarky.

“Were the two years worth ditching me for?” his ex said.

Then, she claimed that they should just put the whole thing “behind them” and get back together.

Understandably, though, he was seriously ticked off– particularly by the snarky remark. That’s why he finally snapped and told his ex-girlfriend off once and for all.

“I told her I don’t want to be in the same room with her again and that her mere presence makes me want to vomit,” he revealed.

But while that might have felt good at the moment, his ex-girlfriend actually ran and told his parents about the comment he made afterward!

That made his parents pretty angry at him, and they believed he acted “too vindictive.” They also claimed that his hostility was not going to help anyone move on from the situation.

Still, he made it crystal clear to his parents that his ex was not the person he wanted to spend his life with or be the mother of his future children. He also blocked his ex-girlfriend so she cannot reach out to him again.

Regardless, ever since the conversation with her, he can’t help but wonder if admitting that seeing his ex would make him want to throw up was really the wrong way to handle the situation.

How would you feel if your partner forced you to choose them or your pet? Can you understand why the ultimatum disgusted him? Did he have a right to tell his ex-girlfriend off after she reached out again or not?
