This 34-year-old woman has owned her own restaurant for nearly two years now. But, her grandmother, who is 76, had no clue that she was an entrepreneur.

Apparently, her grandma disowned her when she was 21 because she refused to allow her grandma to control her and bully her like her mom did.

But, just last week, her father spilled the beans about her running a business with her husband. Her dad didn’t do it maliciously, either.

Instead, he was just bragging to his side of the family about her accomplishments, claiming to be super proud of her.

However, her grandma caught wind of her success, and the news seemingly looked like “money signs” in her grandma’s eyes. She even started pestering her dad about how much she earns!

“He tried to immediately shut down the conversation after she kept asking about how much we were making and what our gross income was,” she recalled.

Her grandma didn’t take the hint, though, and instead tried to call and text her numerous times the following day. Her grandma even went so far as to leave her multiple voicemails until she eventually picked up the phone.

Upon finally talking to her grandma, she was shocked, too. All of a sudden, her grandma was acting so sweet that it actually made her sick.

Her grandma hadn’t even tried contacting her since disowning her years ago, either. Yet, her grandma had the nerve to make a shocking request.

“My grandma asked if she could have a pay cut since she’s my grandmother, and she needs more retirement funds and would appreciate the help,” she revealed.

She was super taken aback by that and pointed out how her grandma had been the one who decided to cut off their relationship after she stuck up for herself.

But even though that was true, her statement just started a huge argument between them.

She couldn’t believe that her grandma felt entitled to her hard-earned money. Plus, her income is used to further support her business and pay the bills– so she doesn’t plan to just hand it over to her grandma.

Nonetheless, her grandma couldn’t understand that and wound up badmouthing her to other family members.

So now, she’s receiving a ton of texts, calls, and even voicemails from family claiming that she should help out her grandma.

Some people are even accusing her of being selfish since she makes enough money to help out her grandma but is just choosing not to.

“And I have done everything I could to explain to them the situation, but they won’t budge,” she said.

Her father has since apologized for ever telling her grandma about her business. However, to be clear, she was never angry at him and knows he’s a good dad who was just proud of her.

Plus, given all of the pushback from family, she’s now starting to feel like she might have overreacted by refusing to give her grandma a cut of her business revenue.

“But I’m not sure how to help the situation without turning this drama into a full-blown nuclear meltdown,” she vented.

How would you feel if you were in her shoes? Is her grandma entitled to any of her earnings, especially after disowning her? What should she do in this situation?
