Her Parents Have Been Homeschooling Her Since She Was Little, And She Hasn’t Learned Anything

This 16-year-old girl’s parents decided to homeschool her ever since she was little, so she has no records or report cards, as she never went to actual school at any point.

Additionally, her parents have basically locked her up in their house for mostly her entire life, and her parents failed to teach her a single thing.

She says her mom and dad have absolutely neglected her in an educational sense. She doesn’t know any math and can only add on a kindergarten level; that’s how bad it is.

She has tried to contact the authorities several times to inform them of what’s going on at home, and she says nobody cares or has done anything to intervene.

Ever since she was 9-years-old, she has begged and pleaded with her parents to go to public school, and they have kept promising to send her in another year.

So, for the last 7 years, her parents have been saying she can go to public school in another year and then so on.

“I’m tired of it; I literally cannot teach myself,” she explained. “I’ve tried to learn math alone since I was 14, but I…can’t.”

“I just don’t get it at all; I need someone in the room with me, helping me, teaching me. Not only the educational neglect, they never let me out of the house until I was old enough to go out alone. ”

“I can now go on walks and such, but that doesn’t let me find any friends. I have had no friends or family growing up. We stay inside, we avoid people.”

Two months ago, she figured that since her parents aren’t going to help her, she doesn’t need to interact with them.

She started ignoring her parents completely. She leaves her room to make food, and her parents attempt to speak to her, but she won’t say a word in response.

She pretends like she’s the only one living in their home and acts as if she neither sees nor hears her parents.

Her parents are aware of why they’re being ignored. She made it obvious to them: if they enroll her in public school, she will start interacting with them again.

It’s been weeks, and she has been able to keep up the front, even though she’s beginning to feel terrible about it.

“My mom’s been crying, saying things like “What did I ever do to you baby?” “Please, I just wanted to protect you,” – it hurts,” she admitted.

“Even my dad has had some tears because of this (I refused to eat my favorite meal that he makes), and they’re both calling me a terrible human, saying they didn’t raise [a jerk] that would do something like this.”

“I miss them, I do love them, I don’t know if what I’m doing is right, or if I’m actually going too far. We were so happy together before I decided to do this.”

She’s planning on ignoring them for the next two years until she turns 18 and can enroll herself in a local college.
