Some childhood wounds don’t heal in time, like having your stepmom treat you like an unwanted child. And now that she’s watching her witch of a stepmom come unglued, the very same person who said she would grow up to be a loser, she can’t help but feel happy about it.

This woman is aware that her parents didn’t plan on having her, and her mom basically raised her as a single parent, since her dad wasn’t thrilled about her existence.

Eventually, her dad came around and paid her mom child support while spending some time with her. Her dad then went on to marry her stepmom, Hildy, and they had two children together.

It was as if her dad was committed to being a dad and doing the right thing with her half-siblings. Hildy was always nasty to her and made it clear that she was far superior to her.

“How she and her kids had clothes from nice stores and not Walmart, and how they just didn’t have time to include me in the Christmas card picture, plus I wouldn’t have a nice enough outfit, so oh well,” she explained.

Not too long ago, one of her half-brothers came out as trans, which sent Hildy into a downward spiral. Initially, Hildy showed her support, but that was a lie she couldn’t keep up for long.

Hildy has been drinking like a fish and gaining a ton of weight. Hildy then lost her job, which she only discovered after Hildy called her in the middle of the day.

Over the phone, Hildy went on a rant about how she should be the one transitioning instead of her half-brother, so it sounds like she was under the influence for that chat.

“It was so bizarre, and I told my dad he needed to deal with it. He tried telling me that he wanted her to get therapy, but honestly, I don’t care, except I don’t want her to ruin my brothers’ lives,” she added.

“Apparently, she picked one of them up from school and smelled like wine. She has been so horrible to me my entire life that I’ve known her (most of it), and I don’t care that she’s unhappy.”

“I have enjoyed watching her burn out. Yes, I feel bad for my brothers, but this woman treated a literal child like trash because she hated my mom. She came to my bridal shower, wearing a white dress that she couldn’t even zip up the whole way.”

Her guests said things to her about it, and she simply ignored Hildy. Hildy used to do the same thing to her, and she can recall one time when people pointed out how short her jeans were that she had on.

Hildy stated that she would not spend a dime on clothes for her, considering her dad paid her mom child support. She thinks Hildy had it coming, and she is finally living the life that she deserves.

She knows it’s wrong to find pleasure in Hildy’s pain, but karma is karma.

I hate that her dad never took her side or made Hildy treat her with more respect, and I understand why she’s living for the front-row seat to Hildy’s downfall.

I think she should cut contact with Hildy and her dad, but stay in touch with her brothers in case there is anything she can do to help them out.

What advice do you have for her?
